“Excellent service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2013

It is not easy to get a table for 10 people when you have not made a reservation and simply decided to have an impromptu gathering. But Skolabru managed to squeeze us all in with very little waiting time, shifting several table together so we could all be together. This was very much appreciated indeed.
There was ample choice on the menu - all sounding quite delicious. We all had a different dish which normally for one table it would be a chef's headache, but each dish came very well presented and was served reasonably fast too. I chose a seafood medley and there was indeed many varieties of fish and prawns and langoustines, and plenty of them too not just a hint. The others also enjoyed their food very much. There was a great choice of wines too.
Staff were very friendly and efficient taking care of us without being overbearing. Decor was simple and ambience was good. Would definitely recommend.

“Excellent food.”

The food was delicious.
A bit pricey but Reykjavik can be expensive for the most part. Great service. Salmon and seafood were delicious. Centrally located.

“Seafood at the very best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2013

Had an outstanding meal here tonight. Husband had goose carpaccio, wolf fish with mango and ginger and creme brûlée and I had goats cheese salad, languistines (which were soft, succulent and melted in the mouth) and chocolate soufflé. Atmosphere was great, service good and great choice of wines (we chose a German white which had mango overtones and went well with the fish). A must for anyone who loves good food.

“Good food, cozy restaurant, meh service.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2013

I went there and the food was really good. Many choices and really good dishes. The atmosphere is generally really good, although it might seem a bit small-sized. FYI: If you order the pepper stake don't say medium-rare, it will be like segnan. (And it was a bit hard to chew). The salmon was amazing and the lamb was really good. About the service, now. Good, but some mistakes when it was the time to server. When we made a reservation, we were not noted down and generaly service is their weak point I suppose. Generally: A must of Icelend with amazing food!

This is a superb restaurant in a traditional building serving a range of interesting dishes. Impeccable service. Refined food.
