“Very comfortable”
Reviewed February 19, 2014 via mobile

Friendly staff, very comfortable & clean room. Newly refurbished by the looks of it. Nice and quiet. About a 5-10 min walk to very centre. Lots of building work going on right by the hotel - not at all noisy but did make the approach look a bit grotty! However would recommend.

Stayed here for 3 nights, no complaints at all. Room was clean and warm, hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Happy hour certainly did help. Hotel located about 5 minutes walk from main street. Would definately stay here again.

We stayed here from 12-16th February and would stay here again. I was a bit disappointed to see the building site next door, but it did not trouble us at all. The location is only 5 minutes from the main shopping street and our room was clean and comfy. Happy hour was appreciated too when you can have a (cheaper!) drink and use the wi-fi in the bar area. It would be nice if the wi-fi could be extended to your room, but it's actually quite nice to not be on the other end of an Ipad/emails all the time! They even sorted breakfast at 4am which was much appreciated at such an unearthly hour. And thanks to the member of staff who is an Arsenal fan (sorry, I can't remember his name) on reception who sorted my boarding cards. Nothing is too much trouble. A great hotel.

Not much to say really, adequate accommodation, relatively well situated, clean, no frills... One thing that definitely could improve is breakfast (no warm eggs any style, only one jam, honey goes straight onto your plate and runs all over it (instead of offering little jam or honey containers), same fruit every day...) I would probabyl opt for a more cozy boutique style accommodation in Reykjavik next time, or a bit more upmarket business hotel

Room Tip: Nice views from the rooms on level 4-6 facing the bay

We stayed at this hotel from 13-16th Feb 2014 having booked it after reading several reviews last year.

It's in a good location, 5 mins or so from the main shopping street and is one of the drop off/collection points for the 2 companies doing the tours.

Staff were friendly and welcoming and happy to help. Our room was very clean, comfortable and warm. We took our travel kettle after reading there aren't any in the "normal" rooms but there is a fridge which is very useful.

Breakfast is simple - there are fresh fruits, cereals, salad items and breads for toast.

We didn't notice any disruption from the building work.

We would highly recommend this hotel and intend to return again.

Room was clean, comfortable and warm. Breakfast was more than adequate, buffet style continental, fruit and cereals. The reception staff, service was very good, the staff were eager to please and happy to help with any queries. Good location just 5-10 minutes walk to city centre and lots of bars, restaurants, seafront and harbour. In the opposite direction 30 minute walk to Saga Museum. There is a small bar on site if required. All rooms equipped with a small fridge suitable for drinks and small snacks. Only the superior rooms on top two floors are equipped with tea and coffee facilities would have been nice to have this in all room grades. Overall a pleasant and enjoyable stay and would recommend. There was building work in the hotel vicinity and it was very noisy from 7.30-8am in the morning. This did not concern us and we were up at this time anyway, eager to explore and enjoy our holiday. But maybe not so good for those who enjoy the nightlife and want a lay in.

Modern, clean, friendly hotel. Ideal base for touring around, great location for shops and bars.
Even though we had a really early flight up at 4am. Breakfast was still served, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely use again
