“Ideal for a City Break in Iceland”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

Room was clean, comfortable and warm. Breakfast was more than adequate, buffet style continental, fruit and cereals. The reception staff, service was very good, the staff were eager to please and happy to help with any queries. Good location just 5-10 minutes walk to city centre and lots of bars, restaurants, seafront and harbour. In the opposite direction 30 minute walk to Saga Museum. There is a small bar on site if required. All rooms equipped with a small fridge suitable for drinks and small snacks. Only the superior rooms on top two floors are equipped with tea and coffee facilities would have been nice to have this in all room grades. Overall a pleasant and enjoyable stay and would recommend. There was building work in the hotel vicinity and it was very noisy from 7.30-8am in the morning. This did not concern us and we were up at this time anyway, eager to explore and enjoy our holiday. But maybe not so good for those who enjoy the nightlife and want a lay in.

Modern, clean, friendly hotel. Ideal base for touring around, great location for shops and bars.
Even though we had a really early flight up at 4am. Breakfast was still served, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely use again

We were upgraded to a super room on the top floor with a view of the sea and mountains, so we were lucky. It helped it was my friends special birthday, I think. The room was basic but had all that was needed, comfy beds, big bathroom and storage. The hotel is in a good location only a brisk 5-10 mins from the heart of all the shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a bar downstairs which is nice for a nightcap. Brekkie is ok-cereals,fresh fruit, cold meats, toast, breads, danish pastries and pickled herring!!! As others have said at the moment there is lots of building work going on right by the hotel but I can honestly say it didn't affect us. All in all a good hotel at a good price.

Room Tip: Top floor facing the sea

One of the best three star hotels I have stayed in. Room was nice, spacious and warm. Asked for a double but got two singles pushed together with single duvets. Think this is standard in the hotel but beds were very comfortable.

Breakfast is basic but perfectly adequate. Just cereals, toast, fruit etc.

Location good, 15 minute walk downtown which was fine. Lovely restaurant just around the corner called Harry's! Ate there twice as food was so good and much cheaper than the grill and seafood restaurants in the centre.

Didn't book any tours through the hotel as researched this and decided not to go on coach tours, instead mini buses or jeeps which are much smaller groups but staff friendly and helpful.

Bar fine, happy hour on beer but nothing else. Alcohol pricey as is everywhere in Iceland! Negatives - no tea or coffee in the rooms. You have to pay for a cup anytime other than breakfast which is ridiculous! No wifi in rooms, only in the bar or at reception. Building site next door although did not trouble us noise wise.

If they improved on these things, I would have rated higher. All in all, we had an amazing time in Iceland and would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is about 5 mins walk from town so is quiet at night . V Clean and minimalisic. Rooms quite small but beds very comfortable with good quality linen. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast very basic . Warning if your travelling soon lots of building work going on behind the hotel and beside the hotel although a little noisy did not spoil our stay. No wifi in rooms only bar.

Good hotel in good location. Breakfast exactly as expected. Room more than adequate very clean and very warm! Reception staff absolutely first class, nothing too much trouble and more than made up for icelandair's lack of information. Would recommend.

Room Tip: Balcony room on high floor

We were booked into this hotel as part of an Iceland northern lights package the hotel was excellently located and very clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and breakfast included and "help yourself".
There is some noise from passing traffic but generally our stay was very good.
