This is classed as a three star hotel and it lives up to this. We upgraded our room which was very reasonable to do. If you do not have one of the upgraded rooms it is worth noting that you do not get tea / coffee making facilities in your room! The breakfast was a buffet style with plenty of choice but no hot food other than toast but plenty of other choice. The hotel was clean, beds comfortable and the staff very efficient and friendly. The location is very good and a 10 minute walk to the main shopping street with plenty of restaurants. The only "con" in this hotel is the Happy Hour - do not be fooled. Normall price for two large beers 1900Kr (about £10), happy hour price is 1000Kr (about £5.50) for two SMALL beers therefore cheaper to buy outside of the happy hour. All in all a wet but enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Top floors 5th or 6th some with sea view. These rooms have tea / coffee making facilities the cheape...

The first thing to say about this hotel is how friendly the staff are. They couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming.
Based at one end of the main shopping street the hotel is very conveniently located without being in a noisy part of town. To get to the other end of the shopping street where the bars and restaurants are is a 1.5Km easy walk even for someone like me that was hobbling with knee problems, or a 1,600 Krona (£8) taxi ride.
The hotel itself is modern but relatively basic but I don't think many people go to Iceland to sit around a hotel all day. The beds are nice and firm without being hard, there is a good TV, small fridge and excellent shower room. They only do breakfast which is a standard but very good cold buffet. For other meals you need to find a restaurant. On our 3 night long weekend we tried the Argentina Steakhouse, The Fish Market and the Fish Company all of which I could recommend and will post separate reviews.
Drinks in the bar are reasonable (compared to Reykjavik prices not UK prices) and happy hour - 6pm to 8pm - where 2 beers are 1,000 Krona (£5) is extended to 10pm whenever the Northern Lights tour is cancelled.

Room Tip: We had a ground floor room right on the street and next to reception but it was still reasonably qui...

Average but probably good for area. My mate thought it was great but i thought it was a 2star trying to be a 3 star. However location is Ok albeit next to a building site. Staff very helpful. Breakfast continental. Perhaps it is very good for the area!!

I really loved this Hotel, Reception was helpful and polite from the young couple on the desk when we arrived to Christian when we left, really nice to have met them all. Breakfast was lovely, just a cold buffet but very nice and fresh. room was really big (on the third floor) and although I had my doubts as we were right next to the lift we didn't hear anything any night which was brilliant. The shower was enormous! I would recommend this hotel to anyone that needs a good clean friendly base from which to do their trips and cannot fault it at all.

Exellent hotel, very new.
The hotel front desk Man Christian was full of imformation about the various tours and the town.
We had a Golden Circle trip by BUSTRAVEL, the Driver/Guide was excellent and should be recommended. You must visit the Blue Lagoon and do the Northern Lights trip but drees up as very very cold after dark!

This was my second visit to this hotel. Its the perfect base to explore Iceland from. The staff are friendly and helpfull, and the whole hotel is clean and warm. The breakfast is fine, when we stayed last year it was lit by night lights which was nicer than the electric light this year. Its only a short walk to the harbour or the centre of town. Iceland is a beautiful country well worth a visit!

Myself & my partner spent 3 nights at Hotel Klettur. We found it to be spotlessly clean in a very modern minimalist style, with friendly & helpful staff. A complimentary continental breakfast was available each morning 7 - 10am. The hotel was in a great location at the edge of the city. A coffee / sandwich shop and a sit in / takeaway pizza place were within a 5 minute walk. A supermarket was approx 10 minutes walk away as too was the beautiful harbor.

We were grateful for the hotel bar happy hour - as drinks in Iceland are quite expensive. However on one evening we couldn't get a seated table as it was taken up by people using the free wifi whom weren't drinking... I would suggest to the hotel that they open up the breakfast area for this at busy times...

My only other suggestion would be that the hotel provides 2 pillows per guest.. Rather than us having to ask.

All in all, we would definitely stay at this hotel if we travel to Iceland again & would highly recommend it to other travelers.

Room Tip: You can upgrade to a balcony room - which is good if you are a smoker. However the views is into ano...
