This is a great new hotel in Reykjavik, hence the reason it is so clean and modern. Sited within 5-10 mins walking distance from the main drag in Reykjavik, the hotel is suitably quiet, and accessible for a good night's rest. There is little much of a view however.
Rooms are usually a twin setup, and breakfast is included in the bar area downstairs. If you are from England, then you get some of the usual TV channels you would expect at home BBC One, ITV1, ITV2 on the telly within your room. No tea and coffee facilities in the room, although these are available in the bar (for which there is a small charge beyond breakfast time).
It gets light quite late during Feb in Reykjavik, but each room has blackout curtains to make it even darker, so beware of oversleeping! Especially because the room can get very warm despite low temperatures outside (We slept with the window open and were just about right). The en suite is arranged as a wet room, and consists of shower, toilet and sink with mirror & hairdryer.
Reykjavik Excursions and Iceland Excursions both pick up for tours at the hotel, and there is ample waiting space within the lobby area. Staff are usually well informed about pick up times and are well placed to arrange alterations to bookings for these tours. (We moved our Northern lights excursion although did not see any lights during our 3 night stay).
Check in and out is straightforward. Room keys are electronic and hence control the power, which is bad if you want to charge a phone or camera while you are out for lunch for example.
There is lift only access to all floors, so if you fear the elevator, you may want to book a ground floor room, which are accessed directly from the lobby (Not sure how noisy these are as we were on the third floor). Not sure if the hotel has disabled rooms, but certainly the room we were in, although on a wheelchair accessible floor, did not have a wheelchair friendly bathroom size, so do check before booking.
All in all really pleased with the trip great nights sleep, great base for a lovely city!
