I love reading trip reviews and was finally compelled to write my first . We did the 3D/2N South coast "Mission blue" ice cave adventure with Discover Iceland March 4th. for my birthday ..Our guide Gummi and trip mates made this vacation one of my all time favorites. The country of Iceland has a magical allure and pristine beauty unto it self and we got to experience it to the fullest with this very personal and fantastic tour. First and foremost our guide Gummi was a delight. He was very informative and never once did we feel unsafe with him at the wheel. We got to explore places where only these jeeps could access as well as all the major sights. Our travel partners who we had met for the first time were an adorable fun young couple. The hotel was in a beautiful location with Friendly lovable Icelanic horses out our window. The ice caves were so much fun to explore and the blue of the ice is brilliant and stunning. There were just so many magical places I can't just pick one as a favorite .Glacial lagoons with seals and floating ice, the profound silence while looking out over a glacier or the excitement of standing within feet of massive flowing waterfalls. An not to forget and mention lava fields, rocky cliffs and crazy powerful North Atlantic Ocean waves. We took a 2 day trip to the west coast with another company on a mini bus and let me tell you they are not even comparable .Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money it is the only way to go. Definitely I would again travel with discover island and request Gummi. Though I'm sure all their guides are top notch for we did get to meet another one who was a sweetheart too.
