When we asked for beers, the service made us feel as if we had been so rude as to disrupt them. This was almost acceptable, given the fact that this bar was supposed to have one of the better Icelandic beer selections in Reykjavik. We went on the last night of the Icelandic Beer Festival, and found all of the beers we had been drinking all along in Iceland.

The place looks cool, like the kind of cool that must have taken forever to plan out each singular detail, from the board games in the bookcase to the hammocks to the beer kegs supporting a table near the bar. Too bad the food could not live up to the decor. I had the mussels, which came with about 10 total mussels and no sides. It was misleadingly listed with my boyfriend's more appropriately entree-sized beef goulash. Since the mussels weren't that good anyways, I decided not to order more food, and went elsewhere to finish my meal. My boyfriend enjoyed his goulash, but was not blown away by any means.

Overall, its a cool place to look at, and grab a beer. Not the best place for good food or service.

This place is a favorite among the "afterwork" drinks crowd in Reykjavik. With a great selection of local beers and nice menu selections from the kitchen, this provides exactly the right spot to unwind after the work week. You'll run into great mix of locals and guests here. The weekend I went there was a 3 day beer tasting - in celebration of the fact that Iceland had prohibition on beer sales till 1989!

We had the platter of Icelandic cheeses at our little table with candles next to a window ledge seat looking out over the snow to the sea and the mountains. It came quickly (given that you don't need to cook cheese) but beautifully presented with crackers and a kind of spread that tasted a little like humous and a selection of different breads. The waitress explained what each cheese was and we forgot instantly and tucked in with gusto. Between 2 of us we couldn't even finish (even though we wanted to!). In a word, delicious! A must try. Good old Iceland and their tasty dairy products. the bread was really nice and we washed it down with winter Bock beer and pints of Stout which were extremely good! Considering we got a plate for the two of us and it filled us up for around £8 I'd say this was very good prices for Iceland! The guys behind the bar are cheerful and friendly and helped us select the beer that we had and gave us a taste of the stout that made us converts for life!

Our first visit was on a saturday evening, pleasant helpful staff, good choice of beers (4), roomy & relaxed ........ being Saturday evening this soon changed as time moved on, soon filled up with young people (believe there was a club in another part of the building). Called in for cake & coffee during Sunday & returned for a early evening meal (& beer). Fair prices (for Iceland).
