Excellent guide. Picked us up at North Star Apartment. Gave us a little extra tour downtown before returning to hotel.

“Poor english, poor rhetoric and mediocre Golden Circle Bus Tour”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2014

It was so terrible I would like a refund.

We bought the golden circle morning tour (9-18) from gray line. The guide sounded very confused, stumbled on her words and was extremely boring to listen to. She had awkward pauses, even in the middle of the sentences and it sound like she was reading from a book and translated to English on the fly as best as she could. The guide couldn't speak English nor Icelandic (!) properly. It was obvious at the pronunciation of Gullfoss and Eyjafjallajökull.

The guide stayed far away from interesting details and jokes which made for a sleepy bus ride. The tour was also too long and stayed at too many uninteresting places towards the end. It would most likely have been an interesting tour if the narrative had been better. On one stop we walked by a small group who seemed to have a very talented guide. We stopped for a few minutes and enjoyed the beautiful details and had some laughs. It was apparent that our guide was performing relatively poor in comparison.

“My Favorite Part Was The Soup!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2014

If seeing Thingvellir is your thing (it's historic and beyond beautiful) then you might as well do the whole 8-hour circle. This tour hit a lot of highlights (but don't expect to see the Blue Lagoon or any other thermal spa) including a geothermal field that essentially heats all the homes in Reykjavic, a fun geyser and bubble-pots and a GREAT waterfall (Gullfoss) which also happens to have a wonderful gift store/cafeteria so you can load up on Iceland souvenirs and totally delicious regional lamb and veggie soup. Our guide, Arachna, was superb - right down to picking a local innocuous plant and telling us how the Norse who first came to Iceland adapted to it.

The bus is super comfy; it doesn't have a bathroom but there are plenty of stops along the way. Be forewarned it's a very large bus so there's a bit of time spend getting on and off. Iceland is just a wonderful, wonderful place. Also, it rains a lot.

“Golden Circle Evening tour. 5 Hrs”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2014

Tour Guide Linda was excellent.
Great knowledge about sites visited. She entertained us with stories about Iceland's traditions and folklore. We enjoyed the shorter 5hr evening tour which gave us long enough at each site and attractions. They were easy to look around as hardly any other people about.
Picked up as arranged at cruise port and dropped off back at boat.
2 short added attractions visited which were a bonus.
Thanks Gray Line and Linda.

“Great sights and transport - but avoid Mitzu”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2014 via mobile

I went on the Golden Circle tour today with Gray Line. The sights are fantastic and unmissable, but the guide on the trip was awful and should be avoided at all cost. Her name is Mitzu and she speaks endlessly about all sorts of things, mostly entirely irrelevant to the sights. We carefully counted a total of 16 minutes out of about 4 hours on the coach when she was silent. The transportation was comfortable and pick-up worked flawlessly but if you want a nice experience you may want to pick a different company.
