I booked AH11 Golden Afternoon Circle over the internet very simple and even received a 5% discount . We were unsure which dock terminal our ship Adventurer of The Seas would be docked, but a quick email to the company and they advised which pick up stop would be appropriate The tour itself was on a brand new coach with an excellent tour guide who was very passionate about Iceland and the economy;apparently he used to be a fisherman! Despite the heavy driving rain on the first stop it cleared up for us to enjoy the Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir hot springs. Well recommended an ideal way to get a feel for the real Iceland. My only negative point is the coach waited outside the gift shop which was only about 100 metres from the ship but as no signs to indicate that, half the passengers for the coach were waiting dockside so the beginning of the tour was delayed for an hour waiting for eventually all the passengers to show up. Gray line you should have a representative waiting beside the ship to direct Grayline customers like other tour companys were, or indicate when booking that the coach will be parked outside the giftshop not dockside. Otherwise very well done.

I booked tour AH10: Greater Reykjavík Area Sightseeing, a one-half day tour.

Like any tour of this type, it is less personal than a tour with a small group or vehicle. You travel on a large bus with a couple of dozen passengers. You arrive at a sight, are given a few minutes to walk around, then you re-board the bus for your next stop. This was a tour of that type.

But the guide was informative and friendly; the other passengers were courteous, and the destinations were interesting. The bus was comfortable.

In addition to that tour, my other experience with Iceland Excursions was their airport shuttle which is reviewed at that topic. Both tours offered 5% discount for online booking. Iceland Excursions twice made mistakes with my online booking. For the airport shuttle, my reservation showed two one way trips from the airport instead of one round trip. The booking reservation for this tour failed to show a hotel pickup. I emailed the company and both errors were promptly corrected.

Avoid Gray Line Tours. When something goes wrong (as things do), they will blame you or ignore you, but they will not make any effort to help you. I suggest using a different bus company or, better yet, a small, independent operator who will work with you.

We have taken notice of your review of our company but feel obliged to ask for clarification for such a strong statement. We welcome criticism and consider Trip Advisor an excellent platform for travellers to air their complaints or compliments when these are warranted. As a well established company and recognized tour operator in Iceland we have always welcomed constructive criticism and put in much effort in offering the best available service for our customers throughout the years. Our doors are always open, e-mails and phone calls are answered with much efficiency but we have not received any complaint from you as we know of. We can assure you that any complaint will be taken seriously and dealt with immediately

We first used the company for the airport to guesthouse run. Other airport service didn't go to our smaller guesthouse.

Used them again for the Golden Circle Classic (AH12). Picked up from our guesthouse and dropped off.
Glad we chose this classic tour as we had plenty of time to explore the natural beauty spots. (wasn't much more than the cost of the shorter afternoon tour)
Guide was good with plenty of information.

I was glad we brought some food with us (rolls and drink) so we didn't need to line up for lunch at cafe and could stay outdoors.

About 60 onboard but everyone was on time at each meet up so all went smoothly.
Glad we did the tour.

Girlfriend and I booked an evening tour for Gullfoss and Geyser. We walked down to the booking office about 20 minutes before our tour start. The women in the office seemed a little curt and frustrated but I suppose this might have to do with the fact it was National Day and their offices were right in the heart of the festivities so I imagine they were answering stupid inquiries from tourists all day.

The bus (a Mercedes Sprinter mini-bus) picked us up at the booking office about 10 minutes before the tour start. The driver was friendly and VERY knowledgeable about the area. Her drove us out to Gullfoss, Geyser, told us how to get around and gave us plenty of time to explore around. This was an "express" tour (4 hours) which was fine becasuse the weather was cold and rainy. The tour was pretty amazing though, especially under the midnight sun. If you go to Iceland and don't see the golden circle you're missing out. Since we only had less than 10 people in our tour we made some unscheduled stops at an extinct volcano crater and pulled over on the side of the road to pet some horses in a paddock (girlfriend loved this). Driver dropped us off at our Hotel when we were done.

This was a wonderful tour and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Greyline knows what they're doing and their guides and service are excellent.
