Description: Sun-dappled tables fill a greenhouse in the Botanic Gardens and spill onto a flower-lined terrace at this lovely cafe that specializes in wholesome local ingredients - some grown in the gardens themselves! Soups come with fantastic sourdough bread, and the snacks range from cheese platters with nuts and honey to pulled-pork sandwiches. Coffee and homemade cakes round it all out.

Hidden in between the trees in the botanical garden in Laugardalur. It's the perfect outing on a warm sunny day. Come before the locals get off from work or early in the weekends as the place gets crowded when the weather is good. I think the place is closed during winter but I'm not sure.

The surroundings are serene and beautiful. The food is fantastic and good value. Mostly light courses such as salads and sandwiches as well as cakes but also fine for early dinner.

Highly recommended, especially if you're coming from the Laugardals pool as it's very close by.

It's a little haven in Laugardalur park. One to enjoy on a sunny day in Iceland. Great food and naturally beautiful surroundings.

We ate at Cafe Flora after swimming at Laugardalslaug public pool. Wandered through the park to find Cafe Flora within a beautiful greenhouse. We ordered at the counter and then chose seats and the staff brought the food to us. Our open sandwiches looked beautiful and tasted really good with interesting sauces and salad garnishes. One son enjoyed a very meaty Quesillada (I think that's what it was) while our other son enjoyed the vegie option (a type of open sandwich). They both enjoyed the large helpings of chocolate cake while we shared a portion of apple cake between two. We thought the prices reasonable, the setting beautiful, the service friendly and helpful and the food freshly prepared and tasty.

A wonderful day at Cafe Flora in the botanical garden (Grasagardins) Reykjavik. The soup of the day was excellent (Mushroom) with homemade bread. Very Icelandic menu mostly of snack lunch of traditional items. Outside seating in the middle of the garden and also inside in the green house with ponds and water flora. The serving service was excellent. The prices are moderate compared with other downtown Reykjavik higher prices with the same fare. Very easy walk from the Raddison Hilton (10 minutes) Next to the camping grounds and the Youth hostel.

Imagine having lunch or dinner inside a very large greenhouse, with an indoor pond and a huge variety of plants. The food is yummy, the location is fabulous. Well worth the visit.
