I had the Fish Grill dinner and my wife had the Lobster Grill. All was made with fresh local ingredients and very tasty. Dishes were creatively prepared and attractively presented. The fish grill consisted of an exquisite grilled salmon and a local grilled whitefish-I don't know what it was, but it was amazing!

We both had the four course icelandic grill menu, partly because it worked out at about the same price as a starter and main course so seemed better value. I assumed it would mean four smallish portions. They were four large portions and just too much. Ingredients were local and fresh and some quite unusual. However there were too many contrasting ingredients and flavours in each course and they didn't all work well together. More was definitely less. Perhaps this reflects an inexperienced chef. Both fish and meat were at the well cooked end of the spectrum too, in contrast to other restaurants we went to where it was almost underdone. Service was slow, but I think this was the fault of the kitchen rather than the waiting staff. Buzzy, lively atmosphere.

We ate here on the last night of an 8 day stay in iceland. We ate at many fine restaurants and this one was perhaps the best. All the ingredients were fresh and masterfully prepared. Our bill came out to about 23000 for two people and it was worth it.

Had the opportunity to eat in Both Sjavargrillid and The Fish Company, both are as good as it gets, puts Emeril"s and Roy's back in the USA to shame. Their innovative combinations and tastes are a wow. We had the Lobster Feast at Sjavargrillid and the Taste of Iceland at The Fish Company. I ran out of superlatives. If time permits, do both, if not, flip a coin, you won. Reservations a must.
P.S. We ate all over Iceland, If you like fish or lamb, food is great. Had excellent meals all over the country, my stomach was marvelously surprised.
