“A chance to try some unusual dishes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2013

I had the Taste of Iceland menu that included Minky Whale and smoked puffin breast. Not foods that I would eat regularly but a real opportunity to try something differrent. My wife had the lobster menu. Food, amiance and service were excellent and so we had a very enjoyable evening. Another great recomendation from Trip Adviser.

“My best choice in Reykjavik”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

Booking is key for dinner at this place from Wed night on. It's simply delicious. Lobster soup has been the best in town. And we were amazed til desert. Including the wine choice!

“Great restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

Lovely restaurant with beautifully presented food. Quite pricey (as with everywhere else having a bottle of wine takes the bill well over £100 for two). I had the lamb which is served far more pink than in the UK, but delicious all the same.

“Delicious food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

After reading trip advisor reviews we headed here and we were not disappointed! A main dish is about ISK 5,500 with a 3 course set menu being about ISK 7,000 (£30- £40) and it is worth it. I had the lamb and was blown away as I was when tasted friends seafood dishes. The only thing I can fault about the set menus is that there was the same fish for startes and mains and it would have been great if you could get a seafood starter with a lamb main or the other way round as it seems a pity to have the same thing for starters and mains.
We arrived quite late and with no booking but they made a plan and we were able to get a set with fast friendly service

“Buzzy, friendly restaurant with interesting seafood dishes”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2013

We had a late dinner here on a Saturday night and the place was packed and buzzing.

However, service was efficient and friendly and the wait staff were helpful answering questions about the menu. We each had a different set meal (3 to 4 courses), one purely fish and the other fish + lamb (which included a variety plate of puffin, whale etc.).

Everything was cooked very well with some nice contrasts in texture and interesting sauces (sometimes a few too many...). Desserts were also surprisingly good. The set menus, for what you're getting, are not overwhelmingly expensive, and are similar to what you would pay in the UK for a three or four course meal of decent quality. Wine is the killer, of course.

Highly recommended !
