Listen I did a TON of research on this because hey, it is tough to get back there. Absolutely the best decision. The guide himself was worth the money, but the personal attention, the SMALL superjeep which was 1000x times better than those 10-seat options (I did a trip with them, never again), and the places we packed in were unforgettable. There was a couple from Hong Kong on my trip who had finished their 6th trip of the week! it was the best decision of the trip. Ragnar was incredibly helpful and understanding during all of my questions and inquiries during the weekend. They truly are the best. Whatever you do don't do the coach bus thing and although you think you might be saving enough money with the 10-12 seat superjeeps will be equal, it is a world of difference. especially in terms of guides.

We had two trips; Golden Circle and Northern Lights. Both used fun 4x4 vehicles and excellent and friendly english speaking Icelandic Guides. Pre Sales / Post Sales service was also excellent in terms of information provided and recovering a lost camera from the back of one of the 4X4's. Didn't get to see the Northern Lights but still enjoyed the trip.

There about 40 tour companies that supposedly offers you to chance to see the Northern Lights in REK. If you are looking for a tour company to take you, you'll have to decide between a coach, minibus or jeep. Put simply, if you are going to go to the expense of going to Iceland to see the Northern Lights, don't waste your money on anything other than a jeep!

Our tour was in early January. We were collected by Jacob, our guide at 8pm and didn't return to our hotel until about 1am. There were 3 jeeps in our tour on the night and the drivers were pros at reading to clouds, the weather and the sky and getting us to a good spot. Yes, superjeep are quite pricey but there is a very good reason for that. These guys really know what they are doing. If the lights are going to make an appearance, they will find them for you. I have to say, the results were FANTASTIC. Life-time ambition achieved!

Just before we had arrived, there had been 30cm of snow and coaches can only stick to the main roads and can’t really get away from the light pollution. We spoke to people who had been on a coach tour on the same night and hadn’t seen anything… Speaks for itself!

Ragnar, the guy who deals with all of the email enquiries took my multiple questions in his stride and was very helpful. On the night itself, the main guide helped us with our camera to make sure that we captured the moment. I can’t recommend these guys highly enough. If you want to see the Northern Lights, these guys are great. If you don’t see them on your first attempt, they’ll take you again until you do, so you can’t go wrong really!

Took a tour that covered the Golden Circle and Mount Hekla which took place in challenging weather. The bus tours had been cancelled completely on the day we went out which showed that paying extra to go out in a 4x4 was the right option given our limited time in Reykjavik. It was much nicer to travel inside the jeep than to try to find things to do walking around the city with the wind strong and frequent snow showers.

We visited the major sites, generally getting just enough time to take a couple of pics before the snow and wind made us retreat to the jeep.

It was an interesting drive with the superjeep proving its worth on icy roads, fresh snowfall and on a road that had not been cleared by the snow ploughs. I am a poor passenger under normal circumstances but was not concerned during this trip due to the competency of our driver guide.

We only had 4 people on our trip which was nice at the sites we visited, especially where we were the only vehicle present.

We didn't see Mount Hekla due to the weather conditions, but had a good day in any case and the "on road - off road experience" was interesting in itself.

I'd recommend using this company if you are interested in seeing a 4x4 used on more than the "school run", prefer a small group tour, or find yourself in Reykjavik when the weather is challenging.

I joined a family on a day trip to Jokulsarlon last week. Superjeep was one of the only companies I could find going that distance in the winter, and while pricey, the tour was magnificent. Ingi was a wonderful driver and guide, giving us all the information we could want and answering every question I had. He stopped when we requested and I felt highly secure with his driving despite blasting winds and snow drifts on the roads.

Would absolutely recommend them if small and personal tours are what you want.
