The Borg is a nice hotel, but it seems to be coasting on a reputation as "the" place to stay in Reykjavik. We stayed using credit card mileage points. The staff was coolly helpful, but not warm. The room was very nice, spacious and clean. The lobby was small and minimally inviting. Breakfast was not included in the overnight price. Our biggest complaint was regarding location--it was very loud outside, as revelers partied until after 2 am. Bring earplugs! Overall, we preferred the Hotel Holt, which was also near the downtown area but much quieter and with a friendlier staff.

My son and I stayed at the Borg for a couple of days in February. We were in Iceland to do the Northern Lights as so many others are. Having prearranged nothing the hotel made the whole process as easy as you could wish arranging excursions for us without fuss. They could not have been more helpful. Hotel is well located in central downtown and bars, restaurants and shops are all within walking distance.

Left the other "top" rated hotel as it was not as advertised. Move was the best thing that we could
have done. This is a top quality hotel with all of the amenities that anyone could ask for. Talk about location! This hotel could not be in a better location to walk the walk! Staff went out of their way to accommodate us in the early hours of the day we moved. We were shown two marvelous rooms and did opt for the Junior Suite. Superb furnishings, most comfortable bed and views out to the center of town were ours for the next two days. Would not hesitate to stay again.

I like art deco so this hotel on the square immediately appealed to me. The location is fantastic and even though there was construction going on in the building beside us it really didn't disrupt us.
The first thing that hit the right buttons was the very warm welcome from the reception. The lobby is small but with very comfortable chairs with large windows overlooking the square which is pretty pretty. Our suite overlooked the square with three large windows and had gorgeous art deco furniture beautiful parquet floors and a large bathroom with big walk in shower. The bed was super comfortable with individual duvets European style.
The restaurant was open for breakfast but not for dinner which really was not a problem as there are so many restaurants close by. I liked the hotel and would stay again

Room Tip: Our suite was overlooking the square and it was very big with a walk in lobby and large open plan living room and bedroom. Not sure what the other rooms were like but we loved ours. it had everything we needed

After our stay in Planet Apartments, we shifted to Hotel Borg. Hotel Borg is 1 of the Highlights of Reykjavik. Again very good place to stay.
Rooms were very clean & staff was also very helpful.'Just Perfect Location to stay, very near to shopping street & all restaurants were very close from the hotel.
