I've been to many, many countries and on many, many tours. I highly recommend Iceland Guided Tours for their service, hospitality, and cost. We were a group of 4 couples meeting in Reykjavik to board a cruise ship. We spent 3 full days with Iceland Guided Tours and the only thing that was a problem was the weather. The tours, the sights, the guide (Jon) and Odinn at the office did not disappoint. The whole experience began with responsive email over a period of days to arrange all of the tours. Odinn answered promptly and was so helpful and flexible with the timeline and our requests. We arrived via 3 different air flights and arrival times but Odinn arranged for a driver to meet each of us. The driver, Antanas from Lithuania, was friendly, helpful and informative about the country and restaurants. Once we were all assembled we were off on our 3 days of tours in a mini van. We were comfortable and the guide, Heigel Jon, was so fun to be with. We called him Elton Jon because his name sounded so similar! He was always punctual and informative. It was evident that he loved his country. The first day was a tour of the Golden Circle. If you have only one day then be sure to visit the Golden Circle. Pingvellir is so geologically and historically interesting. Take your time to read all of the placards. Before delivering us at our hotel, Jon drove us around town to point out different restaurants.

On the morning of day two they arrived with two vehicles to get us and our luggage. They were so kind to store our luggage for the day. The office was actually just a short, short walk away from our hotel but they insisted that they would drive over to get us and the luggage. Such hospitality! We were then off to the Snaefellsness Peninsula. It was a rainy, foggy day but our guide kept us informed all along the way. We went to a place where a walk along the cliff would have been great if the weather was better. I suggest it for everyone. Once in Reykjavik we were met at the ship with our luggage. Such service!

On day 3 we went to the South Coast. The weather was fabulous so we had great views of the volcanic glacier Eyjafjallajokull. I highly recommend visiting the farm that was covered by the soot and viewing their documentary of what happened. It was fascinating. It was also very thrilling to visit the Solheimjokull glacier and have the opportunity to touch it. We had seen this glacier on a documentary about the shrinking of the glaciers so it was especially interesting. Once back in Reykjavik, one of the ladies needed to buy a pair of shoes. The guide called his wife for advice and we made a stop at the shopping center. Again, this is impromptu good service! We were then delivered back to the ship.

The three days of tours was definitely comprehensive, informative, and streamlined to our requests. The price was very reasonable and definitely less expensive than what the ship offered. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Booked at the last minute for this tour. (the night before). Pick up was great, the tour was great. The tour guide was very good, lots of explanation en-route and very clear directions at each stopping point. The actual tour itself was from a scenic point of view - absolutely super.

We booked a Grand Circle tour to meet us at our cruise ship. The booking process was easy and we didnt have to pay until we got on the bus plus they took credit cards which made it even easier. We were in a 16 seater mini bus with a knowledgeable guide and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The trip cost less than half the price of the cruise line's identical trip which would have mean using large coaches.

A friend and I booked the Golden Circle Tour through IG and I would not hesitate to use them again. The "bus" and our group was small. It made for a great day. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and punctual. I wish I could remember his name. He even lent his outer layer to a woman in our group who had not properly dressed for the weather. My friend and I also booked transport to the Blue Lagoon through IG. The pickup was prompt but we made several extra stops on the return trip which made the ride longer than it had to be. Overall a very professional operation from start to finish. Your choices for tour companies are pretty limited it seems in Iceland. Do yourself a favor and book through IG.

Iceland Guided Tours arranged a series of trips around Iceland for us during our week's stay. The company uses mini-buses with only 10 or 12 passengers. That arrangement makes for a very comfortable, uncrowded tour. We were picked up at the front door of our apartment promptly every morning.. Each excursion provided many stops allowing us to get out and inspect the sights thoroughly on your own. Restroom halts were frequent. We greatly enjoyed the company and commentary of our tour guide, Dooley. He provided many insights into the Icelandic way of life. Thorstein was another guide with plenty of knowledge about the country. I would recommend this company unreservedly .
