“Hotel in the centerl of reykjavik”
Reviewed April 17, 2014

THis was a good hotel to stay at in the center of reykjavik. Close to the harbor and the main shopping street, it also is a very short walk to the buses that go most places in iceland. I had no trouble with noise as others did, though my room was in the back.

Room Tip: I had a room in the back and had no problems with noise.

We stayed for 3 nights in the close season in early April and have to say that for the price this hotel exceeded all expectations. Our room was on the sixth floor with a fantastic view, it was very clean and comfortable, light and airy and warm. The Micro bar has a eclectic range of beers and very good happy hour prices and is used by locals and guests to make a very friendly atmosphere. Located close to the parliament square in the centre of town, a few minutes to the departure point for Grey Line tours. The staff are all very helpful and keen to help you get to know more about Iceland. The breakfast is good value, there is free tea and coffee in the lobby and unusually for Scandinavia, tea and coffee facilities in the room. Highly recommended I would certainly stay here again

Room Tip: The 5th and 6th floors facing the harbour will have the best views

Friendly staff, a nice nook for breakfast (tea/coffee are free, breakfast can be a bit expensive). Breakfast nook doubles as a bar at night but despite our room being right over the bar, it was quite quiet and peaceful.

This hotel was a great choice for a stay in Reykjavik. It was within walking distance of all the places we wanted to go. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was very quiet and clean. They provide robe and slippers and lots of amenities in the bathroom. But best of all was the bed. Incredibly comfortable and the best pillows ever! If I could give higher than a five rating for sleep quality I would. The MicroBar downstairs was very nice during happy hour. We did not eat at the breakfast buffet, but there are lots of places close by if you prefer something else. I highly recommend staying here if you visit Reykjavik.

I booked this a while ago on a third party site so don't know exactly how much I paid, but I think I got a good deal. The hotel is located in the city center, a 5 min walk from Laugavegur, & 2 min from the famous hotdog stand. It's also within walking to distance to the harbor, making it a good, central location. I hear the Center hotels have bigger rooms by Icelandic standards, which is def true! I was a little scared based on the reviews from ppl saying the rooms were small, but our room (a double) had plenty of space for 2 ppl, a nice big balcony, & big bathroom. It's definitely not what I expected, I've stayed in much smaller rooms in other cities (NYC, Boston.) The part that makes this hotel stand out is how helpful the staff is. The front desk people did everything (called taxis, confirmed tours, gave us umbrellas for the rain, provided directions & recommendations) & I can't say enough good things about them! Our flight arrived early the first day, & the guy who checked us in provided a map along with a written guide to tourist attractions that he showed us on the computer. The hotel provided a lot of extras (nice complimentary toiletries in bathroom, robes, slippers), room was always cleaned when requested, & extra towels were provided. For $12/person, you can get the breakfast buffet in the morning, which has a lot of unlimited choices (cereal, cold cuts, skyr, bacon, eggs, toast, fruit, fresh juice etc.) Prob the cheapest breakfast you will find! I def recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Iceland who wants to be within walking distance to the main attractions!
