Obviously one of the most hip places in Reykjavik. The hostel is an old cracker factory turned into a B&B.
The showers where terrible, dirty and not very sanitised. The hostels common areas where okay. The breakfast was so and so. The classic bread, salami, egg and juice. The bar was located in the same common area and closed early, but you could sit in the bar and bring your own alcohol. this was very popular and you got to met a lot of people from all around the world.

The common area was the best part of this hostel, with nice detail in the design and good spots to sit, meet people and eat/drink. The sleeping areas were plain but adequate and clean. Comfortable bed. Reasonable prices. Very friendly and helpful staff at the front desk. Definitely a young/hip scene with live music on most nights. I stayed in an 8 person room and had no complaints.

If you request a singles room, you will get a closet sized room, with broken down furniture. The single bed was very comfortable, though. The one chair was broken, and the one table was only one foot square. There are no private bathrooms, but walk down the hall to one. The breakfast was very good. Most of the place is arranged for large open group sleeping. It's not expensive, and it shouldn't be for what you get.

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel, and pay the extra money, unless you are on a very tight budget. This place is more for very young world travelers, on a tight budget. You know, the ones trying to see all of Europe on $30 a day or less.

Spent a few nights here, excellent location, Dorms were clean, and lockers provided (take a padlock) .Kitchen on every floor, the guys behind the desk were helpful and friendly, The only reason for not giving this an excellent rating was the prices of breakfasts, and the drinks @ the bar, you pay for the "cool factor" in that respect.

Stayed 7 nights. Rooms are a little bit small but really clean. Every bed has a lamp. In our room there was a desk and several chairs. Kitchens on every floor stuffed with food. Big showers and hot water. There are both shared showers and single bathrooms. If there were any problems with place being clean, it was usually because of drunk tourists but staff reacts very quickly if you tell them.

Staff is very helpfull, will answear all the questions about the city. Helps to organise jeep trips.

Their breakfast is worth the money if you eat a lot in the morning (as it swedish buffet kind of thing).

Security is very good. Everyone gets an electronic card that is used to open the door to their floor and room.

The location is excellent, we walked everywhere.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms closer to entrance door for quieter rooms (there are far from the kitchen).
