Booked Ragnar's flat to stay in for five nights in Reykjavik. The flat had fantastic views of the city and was located in walking distance of the bus station, supermarket, city centre. Given the weather we were pleased not to have to go too far!
The flat was clean and equipped for a family stay.
Ragnar was helpful in advance of our stay replying to my emails.
Perfect place to stay, spacious, well layed out. Everything you need to be comfortable. Oh and the view is amazing. Shot walk to everything. Our family of four was very happy here for our stay in Iceland.
4 of us stayed for 4 nights during the UK October school half term.
This is a great apartment - fitted out really well with everything you could need for a holiday stop. It's fitted out to a high specification and the views really are great! Very good wi-fi (I have 2 teenagers - say no more!!)
Parking outside on the street was easy enough (especially at night - busier during the day) and is only a 10 minute walk to the centre of Reykjavik and less to the cathredal.
The owners Ragnar and Mildred are very friendly and allowed us access when we arrived in the morning and we just left the keys as we had an early start.
Really can't fault it at all - great all round!
Three of us stayed in the penthouse apartment during a visit to Reykjavik. The apartment was on a quiet street and was easy walking distance to the busy section of town where most restaurants and shops were located. We had an early flight to Iceland and the owner kindly allowed us to get into the apartment when we arrived. We paid with cash for our rental and owner accepted US$ for payment. The Apartment has 2 bedrooms, one bedroom has a queen size bed and the second has two twin sized beds. We had a rental car and were able to find free parking on the street near the apartment (one time we did have to park a couple of blocks away). We did not need the car for visiting sites in Reykjavik. We only used our rental car for traveling outside of Reykjavik. The view from the apartment is wonderful. I would not hesitate to book this location if you are considering a stay in Reykjavik.
The flat is large, modern and clean and has everything you need. The view is truly amazing and Ragnar is a lovely host, giving us advice and information whenever we needed it. We received a warm welcome upon arrival (after midnight!).
The location is perfect, central and very close to local stores and the BSI. We enjoyed our stay, many thanks! If you need a place to stay in Reykjavik, I would recommend this apartment.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is perfect - easy walk to the city center and church (Bus Stop 8), bus stop 2 is actually a bit closer. The apartment has everything you need. Great communication beforehand, and warmly welcomed upon arrival. We were actually lucky to see the northern lights from the balcony the night we arrived. The apartment is so light and open - large picture windows overlooking the city, and very comfortable bedding. I would definitely stay here again.
Tip: Any good traveler knows to not use the currency exchanges at the airport - I paid the owner directly in Euros, but neglected to convert currency beforehand, which added significant cost to the stay. Get your currency before you go from your local bank, or use ATM's once in country....my mistake, which I knew better.
Overall a great stay, and would highly recommend.
Location is great with a five minute walk to the church and ten ish to town and the harbour. Flat is large in size and we as a family of four had plenty of room. It is on he it'd floor which was hard on the legs after a day exploring Iceland! Communications were great and we paid directly to the owner on arrival. Parking right outside and even on a busy day we were only just round the corner. Would definitely recommend staying here as everything great.
