Was picked up by Kiddy in his tricked up Ford truck with 4 other fun seekers. Great commentary all the way, saw the sights of Gullfoss en route. Kitted out in warm gear and on to the Langjokull Glacier, given a quick lesson in how to drive a snowmobile then it was off we go. Awesome experience driving around the glacier, stopped and climbed through an ice cave! Back to the truck and home via Geysir. Great day out, highly recommended, top marks to Kiddy, a guy who knows his stuff and has a passion for his Iceland!

We have just returned from Iceland where we went on the above tour with Mountaineers. Our group of 8 included a child, teenager and 2 somewhat immobile but young at heart 83 year olds ( we did have some concerns about how they might manage on the trip). Our guide and driver, Alfrid, was brilliant at helping to get them in and out of the Econoline super jeep, as well as driving us round places to make the most of the views, particularly up on the glacier.
It was a fantastic day out amongst stunning scenery and one I would recommend to anyone of any age.

We booked the Pearl Tour with Mountaineers. This tour was the Golden Circle plus an hour of snowmobiling at the end. We were picked up at our hotel by Alfrid (I hope that spelling is close) in one of their big wheeled vans. There was another couple already in the van, a 3rd was supposed to join us but they weren't at their hotel. The van was comfortable. Alfrid wore a microphone so he could talk the whole time and everyone could hear all the interesting facts and stories he told us. He was our favorite guide all week, just very laid back and personable.

The tour stops at all the Golden Circle sites. After the last site, we began our off road driving. There was no snow yet so it was a pretty easy drive. We met up with about 30 other people for the snowmobiling. We were wearing snow pants and heavy coats. They also provide warm suits and helmets. Unfortunately, this time of year most of the snowmobiling was over ice, not much snow, which was harder and not as much fun. We did hit a patch of snow that was more fun. Of course, this has nothing to do with the tour company.

We were told to bring along lunch, which we did. But they also made a stop at one of the Golden Circle sites so we could purchase food if we needed to do that.

Overall, this was a great tour.

We first used this company for a group tour of the Golden Circle. The guide Hordur was great! Even though it was raining and dismal most of the tour, the sights were amazing and the modified van was fun to ride in (especially to the glacier for the snowmobiling)! But for you experienced or even slightly experienced snowmobilers...book a private tour or it will be painful going so slow (4mph) and watching idiots who have no business on a snowmobile try and drive it. That said, we enjoyed the guide, Hordur so much that we booked a second day with him as a private guide. This was the way to go! If you can pony up a few extra bucks for a private tour, do it! He took us where we wanted to go and stayed as long as we wanted. Giving a much more intimate experience. I wish I would have done this the first time.
