We had a couple of visits to Stofan and enjoyed our BlackBerries coming to life courtesy of their free WiFi. But, more than that, we loved the friendly atmosphere, delicious cakes and hot drinks.

Great place for a coffee or a beer - vintage furniture, good music, and sat on the corner of an historic square, and opposite Reykjavik's oldest building. Good place to chill out for a while.

Ok the first glimpse inside was a bit strange, I felt like I step back in time. The place is furnished with a wild mixture of granny style stuff but actually after a few minutes and the first sips of really good coffee plus a spoonful of delicious cake we started to unwind and feel like at grandma's. The Café is cozy and quiet, we stayed until happy hour and got our 500 Kronan beer. Loved it so much we came back the second day to soak up some sun while drinking out coffee.

My friend and I visiting Iceland for a long weekend stopped in here from the cold after eating a hot dog at Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur. Very European feeling and relaxed atmosphere with delicious coffee. Free Wifi too.

We ventured here on a beautiful day when all the Icelandics were sitting outside in tshirts and shades... Even though it was only 10C!

We got a cosy little area inside with our hot chocolate, chai tea latte and a wonderful Icelandic custard eclair/doughnut - just divine!! There are beers and wines on offer too. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we just sat and enjoyed their books and free wifi! Do go - its a nice little escape :)
