Just returned from a five night stay. Our accommodation was excellent with a huge bedroom, bathroom and a nicely fitted lounge cum kitchen. Very good location - just 5 to 10 minutes from all the restaurants and shops. Yes the nightclub over is busy fri and sat but it didn't bother us. We bought in our own food for breakfast and saved ourselves a lot of money and also meant we could sleep in after late nights chasing the northern lights.

The biggest plus is the 5* customer service. Nothing was too much trouble. Booking trips and restaurants for us and even giving us a bottle of sparkling wine when they found out it was my husband's 60th birthday! A big mention for Alice who was a delight and very helpful.

My wife, 2 year old daughther and I stayed here for 3 nights. we read about the apparent horrors of the road works but it didn't affect us at all. Staff were very welcoming on arrival and quick to assist us with anything we needed. The hotel was very clean from the outside and also in reception but the room had a slightly dirty carpet and was abit dusty in places. This probably stopped it from being a 5 as pretty much everything else was faultless. Hotel is on a strange street though (not just because of the road works) it runs parallel to the main shopping streets but feels like you're crossing a border between two economically different towns just a couple of minutes walk. The seafront is relatively close (10 min walk). I didn't think much of the breakfast at first that was delivered each day to our room. There didn't seem to be much of a meal there but once we dived in and got a bit creative I did love having it each morning and it was very filling. There is a bit of a sulphur smell from the taps that doesn't stay with you and that you quickly get used to. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting reykjavik and would also recommend the seafood tapas restaurant on the sea front

Although the apartment in which we stayed was excellent with every comfort it was not the apartment we had booked. There are two properties numbered 45 (which is where I had booked to stay) and another further along the road. It would appear that there is some sort of nightclub adjacent or opposite the property which resulted in two very sleepless nights and in view of the fact that we were out most of the day touring, found the whole experience very tiring. Cannot complain about the customer service received as this was excellent and the breakfast, as other people have commented, was excellent value for money. I feel we should have been consulted before placing us in an alternative property as this surely is a misrepresentation.

Room Tip: Stay at 45!!

Stayed here for 3 nights in one of the 2 bedroom apartments with 6 girls. The apartment was awesome, great beds, comfortable and an amazing location to all the bars/restaurants. The staff was amazing and so helpful planning our daily excursions. They had great advice and were really friendly. It was one of our birthday's while we were there and the conceirge went out of her way to accomodate a gift from the US be delivered with champagne and chocolate cake! I would highly recommend this hotel!

Just got back from a 3 night stay.....room was lovely and very comfortable; the location was perfect - a stone's throw from the main street of bars and restaurants and the staff were very friendly and helpful. If we ever come back we will stay here again.

Lovely helpful staff right from the word go!

Beautiful apartment, great breakfast, very clean and very warm.

I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends. Only reason it isn't excellent is because we booked a 1 bed apartment and there was an error with our booking and we ended up in a 3 bed apartment which was just way too big for us and didn't have the nice homely feel we wanted.

This hotel/apartment was excellent in every way. The rooms were clean and comfortable with everything you could need on vacation (great wifi, kitchenette, coffee maker, flat screen tv etc). The free breakfast baskets and fresh bread from the local bakery every morning was a fantastic touch.

There are two buildings for this hotel on the same street but about a two minute walk between them. The main building is right near where loud roadworks are going on from early in the morning so I would check with the hotel to see if they are still going, and if they are then request the other building if available - no noise there at all (this is the building I stayed in).

Very helpful and friendly staff that are always available from both buildings. Personally, I would rate this hotel 5 star. It was beautiful, in a fantastic location only one street away from the main streets of Reykjavik, and felt like a home away from home. I stayed in a 1 bedroom luxury apartment (twin beds). Highly recommend!

Room Tip: The luxury apartments are the way to go, especially on the top floor! Request if you can.
