You can taste fermented shark and dried fish but Icelandic meat soup and our Icelandic plates are most popular among the Rye Ice cream and Skyr cake. Beautiful view over Reykjavik, Hallgrimskirkja church and to mountain Blafjoll. Icelandic food.

Icelandic comfort food frequented by locals. This place gives you a taste of authentic cuisine in an unpretentious setting. Basic furnishings and no frills. Try the meat soup for a stick to the ribs lunch at a sensible price.

“Yummy desserts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2014 via mobile

Mom had carrot cake and I had skyr cake. The carrot was fabulous but I loved the skyr cake even more! It was so different than anything I had ever had but at the same time, similar to cheese cake. It was splendid!

“Good Icelandic Food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2014 via mobile

Had an evening meal during a stay in Reykjavik looking to sample some authentic Icelandic food and we were not disappointed.

Not being much of sea food lovers we opted for the lamb platters which included some lovely smoked lamb and was certainly worth trying. Finished off by some delicious Icelandic skyr (Icelandic yoghurt) pancakes all washed down with some nice Icelandic beers.

Price was pretty reasonable as well so definitely worth going to if you fancy trying some traditional Icelandic food.

“Quiet spot for some local food and warmth.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2014 via mobile

A cafe near the Hallgrímskirkja Church. Hákarl, rotten shark is what brought us here and the fact that it was freezing cold outside. we had soup and an assorted platter with salmons cheeses and fresh bread with eggs. As for Hákarl we could only stomach one bite each. It's pungent overwhelming flavor was too much to handle. Def an acquired taste.
