Description: Cafe Loki offer Icelandic meat soup, Icelandic plate, homemade bread and cakes. Icelandic traditional homemade dishes are our specialty. You can taste fermented shark and dried fish but Icelandic meat soup and our Icelandic plates are most popular among the Rye Ice cream and Skyr cake. Beautiful view over Reykjavik, Hallgrimskirkja church and to mountain Blafjoll. Icelandic food.

“Good food in a great location”
Reviewed January 10, 2014 via mobile

This place couldn't be better located for a landmark view - head upstairs. The food was very good, and offered some taster dishes of traditional Icelandic food which is a nice touch. The hot chocolate was very good and the lamb paté on rye bread was the highlight. Slightly odd service arrangement, part table service and part go the counter - not sure if this is standard or whether it was a particularly hectic day. It didn't detract from the experience however.

“Traditional Icelandic Food”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

Even though we opted out of tasting fermented shark, the cake and drinks on offer with a view of the Hallgrimskirkja was really good. If you are looking for Icelandic food and want to taste the fermented shark this is the place to go. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is lovely.

“Friendy, quirky and great food!”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

Arrived on a cold evening and were warmed by the hospitality, despite being near to closing time, and a bowl of lamb soup with flat bread and a cold beer, which went very well together! Dessert was clearly home made and excellent. The server was a nice guy, smiling and helpful with advice on what to see nearby. Try it!

“Best place to taste Icelandic food”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

Knew this place from the Icelandair promo video on Youtube, one of the reason for me to choose Iceland as my destination.. This place did not disappoint me.. The lady boss is so nice and accommodating, so as all the staff there.. We were sat by the window facing the church... Tried the local food.. Great marinated herring, cured fermented shark(rotten shark as we called it), meat soup, and tons of great food.. Quiet crowded as dinner time approaches( we went during tea, and left at about 5pm)... had a great chat wif d lady boss...

When visiting Iceland we had our last brunch here. It was a delicious dish, and the staff wss very accommodating to my allergies and came up with a version of the dish that I could eat.
