Description: Cafe Loki offer Icelandic meat soup, Icelandic plate, homemade bread and cakes. Icelandic traditional homemade dishes are our specialty. You can taste fermented shark and dried fish but Icelandic meat soup and our Icelandic plates are most popular among the Rye Ice cream and Skyr cake. Beautiful view over Reykjavik, Hallgrimskirkja church and to mountain Blafjoll. Icelandic food.

“Great taste of Iceland”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

We had two different Icelandic plates to get a taste of traditional food- smoked lamb, sheep head jelly, cod chips with butter, fermented shark, smoked salmon, beat salad, turnip mash, and fish mash. The rye bread here is so good- sweet and moist. The rye bread ice cream is also a unique dessert and very tasty. We made a reservation the morning of the night we went and had a nice view of the church. If you want to try some traditional food this is the place to go!

“The best place in reykjavik!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013 via mobile

What a place!
i ordered the icelandic plate #4 which is served with rye bread ice cream - yummi!
The prices are quite fair - and that's not common in reykjavik..

“Skyr cake 2DIE4”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2013

The café is located very close to Hallgrímskirkja (you know, the Big White sticking up). They serve a decent cappuccino, but the real thing was their skyr cake. OMG! When back home I tried it myself and people are screaming for the recipe.

Staff was friendly. The inside could be a bit more inspiring.

“Very good Icelandic cafe-restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2013

Offering especially Icelandic food, fish etc... we had late lunch and enjoyed a lot. Worth to check any time, just for a cup of tea or coffee. Or to have some more. Service is good, young people are eager to service and get in contact with clients.

“Good stop during walking tour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

Stopped in for a quick lunch while walking around the city. Was a perfect break after seeing the cathedral. Warm, cozy upstairs with good view of cathedral. Good opportunity to try authentic Icelandic food. Unfortunately I cannot get the shark flavor out of my mouth still hours later. Veggie plate was absolutely delicious!!
