Description: Cafe Loki offer Icelandic meat soup, Icelandic plate, homemade bread and cakes. Icelandic traditional homemade dishes are our specialty. You can taste fermented shark and dried fish but Icelandic meat soup and our Icelandic plates are most popular among the Rye Ice cream and Skyr cake. Beautiful view over Reykjavik, Hallgrimskirkja church and to mountain Blafjoll. Icelandic food.

I love this small café, overlooking the Cathedral, Hallgrimskirkja. Home made excellent food and cakes and excellent coffee - thoroughly recommended!

“Loved the food and the service”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

We always try to eat like locals when traveling and Cafe Loki fit the bill perfectly. I had the fish and potato on rye bread and not being a fish lover was suprised at how much I loved it. The service is excellent very friendly.

“Authentic Icelandic Food”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

A great stop for locals and tourists and recommended by Icelanders we spoke with. Café Loki will deliver unique fare from simple comfort food to something a little more elevated, but keep in mind it is café food.

You can try the traditional Icelandic tea -- Moss tea. It was outstanding, refreshing and warm and does not take (nor need) sugar.

The brown bread ice cream is delicious and I have had this elsewhere and this one was fantastic!

Overall, the meals are satisfying, the service is helpful (picture menus are also provided to help illustrate the dishes, whose names may not be recognizable) and it's an easy place to find, directly across from the Hallgrimskirkja (church) at the top of the road. The prices are also reasonable and it's a great spot for families, friends and travelers. Enjoy!

“Cafe food but good”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

Small café but the food was quite good. I had rye bread with cheese (sounds boring but was delicious). My husband had a fish special which was prepared in three ways and came with rye bread ice cream (yes, that is not a typo), and he liked all of it. Service is nice but slow.

“Rye Bread Ice Cream”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

Rye Bread Ice Cream. That says it all. We did not eat here, because the cafe was packed in the upstairs dining area. However, the rye bread ice cream was worth the trip to Cafe Loki. Yep. You gotta try it! We liked it so much that we dropped by several times, just for another taste before we left Iceland.
