Description: Kaffitár is an Icelandic roasterie, specializing in importing, roasting and serving the finest Arabica coffee beans. Apart from the roasterie, the company owns seven coffee stores-espresso bars or cafés. They are located at our roastery in Reykjanesbaer, in Kringlan shopping mall, in Smáralind shopping mall, down town on Bankastraeti, in the Culture house at Hverfisgata, in the National museum and at Höfdatorg. We buy 75% of our coffee directly from the farmers, this we call "from farmer to cup" which means that our buyer, has visited the farm and selected the coffee. Lots of our direct coffee comes from Ricardo Rosales at Jesus Maria in Nicaragua. El Injerto in Gvatemala and Daterra in Brazil are also farms which we buy a lot from. Our experience is that we get better coffees and more consistent quality. Kaffitár also runs it's own Artisan bakery, Kruderí witch specializes in sourdough bread and delicious pastry.

We visited this place for coffee and a snack for breakfast. It opened at 7.30am and was great as we could get something to eat before we go on the trips. Also great priced.

I already said it. This is a great place to get a cup of coffee. But, more importantly, this is just the place to satisfy your sweet tooth. The pastries, especially those with chocolate are just the best in Iceland. Lunch, omelets and quiches are fantastic, as are most of the items on the menu. Moreover, this may be the least expensive place to eat in Reykjavik. Try this place. You will not be disappointed.

Had brunch at Kaffitar. The quiches were very inexpensive and delicious... which is rare. There is delicious food everywhere in Reykejavik, but the cheap part is the kicker. Atmosphere is normal for a cafe.

They also had amazing coffee, much like every cafe in the city.

Stumbled in here out of desperation to get out of violent wind and it was like coming into a cosy sitting room
Coffee was excellent and our daughter's hot chocolate divine. We also had an almond croissant, banana bread and an apple muffin all for 2,500isk which we felt was v reasonable
We managed to get a table but by 09h30 on Sat it was full.
