As with most places in Iceland, this shop is family friendly but NOT stroller friendly. That, is where my negative comments end.

VERY clean. Gives a sort of post-Bohemian atmosphere without choking you with wafts of patchouli.

The food and service stand out in this place! Homemade soups and sandwiches will give even the grumpiest, stressed out office worker a wonderful and enlightened start to the afternoon. I personally have had their broccoli soup and homemade hummus. Amazing and fresh ingredients. I am not sure if they bake their bread there or if they source it from one of Reykjavik's many bakeries, but it too is always fresh and comes with a pat of real butter which is locally sourced.

A popular café among locals and visitor alike. The atmosphere is laid-back and the service is the very best in town. Families, students, quiet readers, local media figures and writers all seem to assemble here for work, study purposes or a nice afternoon in the city center.

On warm and almost wind-free summer days, there is nothing like reading a good book or write a column or two at the barrel-shaped tables outside, and during winter, C for Cookie is an escape from the freezing temperatures.

A cozy, warm place to sit and have a cup of coffee or a fabulous hot chocolate with whipped cream and chocolate shavings on top. Both are large and very good. We also had a very good chocolate hazelnut brownie with whipped cream and chocolate shavings on top as well.

I have visited a few places in Iceland since I have been here (most of them recommended on TA) and each place has had its own style, and sense of individuality. C is for cookie is no different. The Coffee shop is located of a little side road, and as others have said it seems to be popular with the locals. We took a seat in a cosy little corner of the shop located near the book shelf. After deciding what to have we placed the order at the bar (again as always with Iceland English is no issue). The drinks and cakes where brought to the table very quickly. The food and drinks here are pretty amazing. I have sampled a LOT of hot chocolates and cakes in my time and this place is up there with the best of the best. The drinks are HUGE and the cakes are home made and tasty.

If you are in Iceland you simply have to check this place out if you are a fan of coffee shops. You will not leave disapointed.
