“Great fun”
Reviewed January 3, 2012

Makes you want to go again and again. Comfortable afterwards, specially if you are cold, in the sauna and the hot tubs!

“Scenic and Fun Adventure- Very COLD!”
Reviewed August 16, 2011

We booked with Allrahanda - Iceland Excursions and really enjoyed our River Fun afternoon! It's an easy river; the rapids are not intense, so this is not the trip for you if you're looking for level 4 or 5 rapids. If you want a fun and easy trip down a river with absolutely beautiful views, then here you go. We had an opportunity to cliff jump and swim in the rapids as well. WOW was it cold! But totally worth it- despite freezing for the rest of the trip down the river, jumping off the cliff into the arctic water was a once in a lifetime experience. So much fun. Definitely bring wool socks to wear under your water shoes! And don't go jumping into the water if you are sensitive to the cold. Our tour guides were fun and knowledgeable and we felt very safe in the raft. Allrahanda - Iceland Excursions was a great company. They provided us with a wonderful warm meal after the excursion and we had an opportunity to take a nice hot shower and sit in a sauna after the trip. Bring a towel and a change of clothes for after you get out of the river. A wonderful way to experience some of Iceland's natural landscapes!

“River Fun”
Reviewed July 29, 2011

This is a must! Even if it is a little cold it is too much fun. The guides are really well prepared, they explain and teach you how to row, how to swim safely in an arctic river and so on. The river is not extremely dangerous, so if you fell into the water it is pretty easy to get on the raft again.
Easy to find, good website with all the information, easy to book, nice people. I'll do it again!

“Explore nature while having fun”
Reviewed July 9, 2011

Tour led by arctic adventures. All attire provided and facilities spotless. Although only class 2 the guides filled the time with stories and games for all within guaranteed to get you wet or dunked in the river. Afterwards is a healthy lunch and sauna and hot tub! Very fond memories -

“Worth every penny”
Reviewed September 15, 2010

On our trip to Iceland, I convinced my new wife to come wite water rafting. Neither of us had done it before and I thought it would be a great way to get out and see some neat scenery. We booked our trip and we were off. Our particular trip consisted of only three people plus the guide. The Hvita River is absolutely stunning and unique. If for nothing else, seeing this is worth the while. The actual rafting part was also quite fun, although it was not that challenging, even for people who had never done it. Our guide, who unfortunately I can't remember his name, explained a lot of the history or the river and its landmarks and was very nice. We pulled over about halfway through and got to jump into the river (it is a glacial river). As cold as the water was, it was actually refreshing and I would recommend doing it if you have the chance. Also got a small meal at the end and they have a hot tub and sauna to heat you up if you get too cold. The driver on the way back was our guide and he was more chatty on the way back to the hotel and gave us great information on the local events and goings on. He even answered all our annoying tourist questions very politely :)
I would recommend this for an afternoon out.
