My wife and I have dined at the restaurant a couple of times an on all occasions the food was excellent. The prices are also reasonable (by Icelandic standards) and the service both friendly and attentive. Definitely one of our favourite restaurants in Reykjavik.

This was by far the best meal we had in Reykjavik. Eldhus was recommended by friends - so glad they did. The waiter and the chef could not have been more helpful visiting every table to amke sure all was to your liking - clearly passionate about the food they prepare and keen for all to have a good time. The food was out of this world - so fresh tasty though not your typical "european style" curry - far far better than that. We ate here on our last night and wish we had visited earlier in the week so we could have gone back again!!! We tried to tempt the chef to come to Engalnd - not sure they will!!! Can't wait to go back to Reykjavik and will definitely visit Eldhus again.

We walked nearly the whole street to find something that looked reasonable, given that Reykjavik is known to be expensive to eat out. After the first meal we knew we had struck gold. The proprietor is Buddist and imports his herbs and spices from Nepal. All the staff were so polite and attentive I wondered if the person who found them rude went to the same place.

The melelai curry was so different and delicious. The service was slow but after chatting to the chef he said all food was made from scratch and therefore takes time to cook. I requested a lamb shank for the next night as it took several hours to cook and this again was delicious. The chef came in early to cook it! We ate here all of our 4 nights repeating the melelai twice.

We have eaten in Nepal and India and found that Indian chickens die of malnutrition before going in the pot. This place is more like an upmarket restaurant in UK where they do more than a burning vindaloo for after the pub closes.
