“Reykjavik Excursions must make a FORTUNE.”
Reviewed October 28, 2010

Large coach busses, several at a time flooded with tourists paying $50-80 dollars (US) a head for simple airport-hotel drop off or northern lights viewing (driving around, stopping and getting out, rinse & repeat).

However, they ARE consistent with other companies on the island offering similar products. They are prompt and highly organized.

Thank you for your review but I have to differ with some parts of it. Our Airport transfer costs from $15-$20 and not $50-$80. We allso offer a great variety of tours all around the west and south of Iceland and we try to offer personal service to all customers. The big buses are of course necessary to handle a big load of passengers but it should however not affect the tours we offer. Our northern lights tour is probably the cheapest one in Iceland and costs just over $40 it offers you a 3-4 hour guided evening tour. Hopefully this explains a little bit about what Reykjavik Excursions are doing and I hope you had a good time on your tours with us. Best Regards, The Reykjavik Excursions staff.

“Great way to end a visit to Iceland”
Reviewed October 18, 2010

I was in Iceland for a short period of time, at the end of a 3-week European adventure. We booked a tour through Reyjkavik Excursions to pick us up from our hotel, take us to the Blue Lagoon (sidenote: highly recommended!), and then shuttle us to the airport on our way back to the US. It was very easy!

We bought our "tour" tickets online ahead of time, and told our hotel when we arrived that we had a tour booked. The hotel contacted the tour company, and they were there bright and early to pick us up the next day! The tour price included admission to the Blue Lagoon, and it was easy to hop on our shuttle to the airport right after the hot springs. So easy, highly recommended!

“Good, reliable company”
Reviewed October 17, 2010

We booked a few tours few this company, and found it was very useful that they actually picked us up from our hotel, they were always on time.
Reykjavik Grand Excursion - did this on our first day, we got to see Hallgrimskirja church and The Pearl which gave some really good views over Reykjavik, however I wouldn't say this tour was anything special. We got taken to a museum which was closed so we were told to walk around the outside of it in the rain instead which I thought was a little odd. On the plus side our tour guide was quite informative, although her manner was quite abrupt at some points. I would recommend this tour if it's a wet day and you don't fancy walking all the way around the city, but if you're staying in a centrally located hotel then it's easy enough to walk by yourself to the main city sights if you pick up a map from tourist information.
Golden Circle Super Jeep and Snowmobiling - this was the best excursion we did all week. We got to see Þingvellir National Park, Gulfoss waterfall, the Geysers and also a volcanic crater. The jeep took us up to Langjökull glacier, our tour guide gave us a very brief lesson on how to use the snowmobile and then we were off up the glacier on them. Only downside was I booked this trip online and wasn't made aware that it is 2 people per snowmobile rather than one each, however you get the opportunity to switch drivers when you stop for a break halfway. Our tour guide was really informative and friendly and I would definitely recommend this trip.
Overall we had no troubles with Reykjavik Excursions, they were a good reliable company to book our trips with, I only wish we had time to do more!

“Very good choice for Day Tours!”
Reviewed October 11, 2010

I booked several trips with Reykjavik Excursions:
Golden Circle: a Must-Have-Tour to the Geysir, Thingvellir and the Gulfoss-Waterfall
Reykjavik Grand Tour: see Reykjavik together with a local guide
Saga Circle: dive into the history of the Sagas and go to the sites, where they play
Take a Walk on The Ice Side: guided walk on a real glacier, quite amazing!
South Shore Adventure: Drive to the South of Iceland and enjoy the beautifull landscape
Wonders of Snaefelsness: Drive to the West of Iceland and enjoy the beautifull landscape
Northern Lights Tour: Sometimes you´ll need luck to see them. The comapny offers your a free tour, if theres no sighting
Whale Watching: Sometimes you´ll need luck to see them. The comapny offers your a free tour, if theres no sighting
Blue Lagoon: Enjoy the warm water, the blue slick and some special services
Flybus +: Perfect for coming easy from the airport to the hotel and back again.

I can recommend all of these tours to nature lovers and to everybody who wants to see a lot of Iceland. The tours are well organized, I´ve never had any problems with the Pick Up from the Hotel. Afterwards they will bring your back or bring you to your destination of choice e.g. into the city.
The Guides are very good, very friendly and well trained, they know quite a lot and they can give you a lot of information.
For any questions your cann call the company or you can arrange everything in the BSI-Terminal, where every tour will start.
The personal is always very friendly, helpfull and they know, what they are doing.

When you are landing in Keflavik, you can get your tickets at a counter inside the airport. You can also book all tours in the Internet, theres also a lot of information there. My hotel also offered tthe service of booking tours for me.

I can recommend Reykjavik Excursions to everyone!

Thank you for your great review! In some tours like the Northern lights tour and Whale watching tour some luck is needed but we try to predict this as well and scientificly as we possibly can. Please come back and travel with us again some time :) Best regards, The Reykjavik Excursions Staff.

Easy pickup and delivery to the Blue Lagoon. They were on time and cheap. All I wanted from a shuttle service.

You are very right. The cheapest way to go to the Blue Lagoon is with the Blue Lagoon Express.
Glad that you liked our operations. Best regards from the Reykjavik Excursions staff.
