“"Excellent Stay"”

Booked 2 bed deluxe apts on Laugeveur 85 for 4 nights - superb accomm. Modern, bright, clean, tastefully decorated and centrally located on the main shopping street. Head office is 10 mins away. Gave us as a family the freedom to self cater & come and go as we pleased. 24 hour mini-market around the corner - lots of restaurants all around. Brilliant place to visit.

Stopped here for a week in early February and I have to say we were really impressed with the studio apartment we had. It had everything you needed to be a home from home. We arrived late evening and were still welcomed with an efficient check in. They apartments were lovely and warm with a cooking area that is sufficient enough having everything you needed to cook a meal. The apartment was cleaned everyday as well. Your a stones throw away from a wonderful bakery and a short walk from a supermarket. The centre of Reykjavik is around a 2 minutes walk away so your close to the night life and yet far enough away to not hear the noise. Iceland is very expensive so this option is a great way to still enjoy the island yet self cater at reasonable prices. Lastly go to Iceland its a fantastic place we loved it.

We stayed in a studio apartment for two on the top floor at Bergstaoastaeti in early April. The apartment was clean, very well presented, very trendy and an excellent size. The decor was very tasteful! The staff were very helpful and friendly on arrival. The surrounding area is incredibly quiet, yet it's only a 2 minute walk from the main shopping street. When we arrived we quickly went out to pick up some shopping from the Bonus Supermarket which was just 1 minute round the corner. Cooking facilities within the apartment are just what you'll need if you fancy staying in. Although we ate expensively on a couple of occasions (Grillmarket and Tapas Barinn - highly recommended) we also chose to eat cheap at the noodle bar round the corner. The Bakery across the road opens very early (7am, I think) and sells bread very cheaply from around 50kr a piece.

Other nice wee extras included a reasonable sized balcony, iPod dock, FM Radio and access to many DVDs.

A quick tip - if you're arriving late (after 7pm) and you fancy a beer before going out, you won't get one at the supermarket unless you're okay with low alcohol beer. The local off-licence is around 10 minutes walk and only opens until 6-7pm. Stock up at the Duty-Free in the Airport before coming into the city.

We would highly recommend staying at these apartments if you like your own space and freedom to do what you wish on your holiday.

We had the "Deluxe" apartment on the top floor, in Laugevagur which was very good and reasonable for Iceland. All good, clean and comfortable and very good location just on the main street and yet quiet. The only problem is the 2 bedrooms are very different, one being really good with a balcony, the other being small and with no balcony. So if you're 2 couples, bring a 2 headed coin to toss.
Plenty of local cafes etc to have breakfast, or save some money (Reykjavik is very expen£ive!) and eat in- the kitchen facilities are very good. Also dock for ipod, and TV but limited channels.

Stayed at this place for 4 nights over Easter, it really was a home from home for us during our stay. 2 minute walk from down town, 30 seconds to the cheap bonus supermarket where you can stock up on bits and pieces such snacks, soft drinks, frozen pizzas etc. the staff were lovely especially Mickey who was friendly and helpful and always seemed to be there, he would offer to book our trips for us including the flybus back to the airport on departure day but they give you a mobile phone to use with the number programmed in so it's easy to do it yourself and everyone speaks perfect English. The apt was warm and cosy and very quiet, seriously why would you want a hotel with places like this around, there is even a bakery across the road for your fresh coffee and pastries in the morning. Dvds are also provided, some in the apt and loads more in reception, just pop in and get them. Even the tour companies have it listed as one of their pick up places along with the main hotels. Can't wait to go back as we didn't get to do everything we wanted to in those precious few days we were there.

This was a great choice for accommodation. It's located on a quiet street, but only a couple of blocks away is the main shopping district as well as many great restaurants, bars and a grocery store.
The staff are awesome and can answer absolutely any questions you might have, and as a plus there is an amazing bakery right across the street!
If I had any complaints (which are very few) the wi-fi wasn't the greatest and they don't have satellite TV, which means you are stuck with 1 Icelandic channel and thats pretty much it.

A fantastic find. These apartments are spacious and well decorated in a modern style. They are central in Reykjavik just around the corner from the main shopping street. There is a lovely bakery across the street where we bought our supplies for our daily excursions. The beds were so comfortable with fluffy pillows and cosy duvet. It felt like I was sleeping in a cloud! I would definitely stay here again.
