We roast the coffee in the shop and serve quality coffee as espresso, macciato, cappuccino, latte, Arabic and Turkish coffee as well as tea and hot chocolate. Soups, pies and croissants as well as our fumes breast so if you are coming from the flight in the morning the stop and see oss for breakfast and we also have good lunch. We also have food to go if you are going on the whale watching. We have sometime live music so be in touch and hope you are in town when we have live music.

“Terrific coffee, nice people, great place!”

I travel often through Reykjavik from New York, and always make an effort to go to Cafe Haiti. The coffee is delicious, the owners are very nice, and on a sunny day it is a treat to sit outside and watch the world go by. Devoted regulars insist that it is the best coffee in Reykjavik, and I think they are right. Buy some beans to take home with you!

“Best coffee in Reykjavik so far . and served by the frienliest people without comparison”
Reviewed June 25, 2009

Got a recommendation for this small cafe by an Icelandic friend and it was well worth the visit. Really good coffee which the Icelandic/Haitian couple roast and grind themselves. Small but extremely cozy place where a deep blue ceiling adds to the atmosphere. Love it and will be going back for the rest of our stay here in Reykjavik.

“Coffee at its best”
Reviewed June 12, 2009

Most likely you don't travel to Iceland to have an excellent cup of coffee. But you should consider it!

We try to discover new things each time when we are in Reykjavík. Café Haiti has surprised us in so many ways and that's why it finally has evolved to be a mandatory stop-over for us.

Not only that Elda and Methúsalem are very nice people, they are celebrating the art of making the best of what coffee ever can be. Elda gets her coffee beans straight from Haiti and does all the necessary processing by herself. She offers a broad variety of different flavours. It's fascinating to see her doing all the magic things behind the counter. The result is simply delicious.

From time to time she changes to making fresh pastries which are more than a sole supplement to your coffee. Sometimes you can even find chocolates from Belgium.

Simply spoken, don't miss Café Haiti when you are in Reykjavík. It's a must!

“The smallest, nicest café in Reykjavik”
Reviewed June 6, 2009

Café Haiti is run by a woman named Elda who used to grow coffee beans in Haiti.
She met and married an Icelander and moved to Reykjavik with her son. This little
café only sits 4-5 people indoors but on a nice day you can sit outdoors. The coffee is delicious and the atmosphere very cosy.

“sweet and simple....and the best”
Reviewed June 4, 2009

Cafe Haiti is absolutely the best kept secret in Iceland. With the best coffee in a very intimate setting I would highly recommend it as a part of your daily routine. One can either have a seat and enjoy the harbor, or have it to go. The fact that it is also fair trade is a big plus for me personally.
