My husband and I booked this tour based on the recommendation of our hotel. It was the best. Our knowledgable guide showed us a full day of sights big and small. He was always keen to ensure that you got the best photos of all the sights and had the Geysers down to the second so that you could capture the bubble prior to the explosive spray. He described all the sights with great passion stemming from a life lived in this beautiful land. He was able to answer all of our questions about the country, the people, the economy, the history...it was a memorable day and it will not be forgotten! Thank you!

Amy and I went to Iceland for our honeymoon (early-mid October 2012). Seeing the Northern Lights was a primary reason for going. We were a little worried because it was raining into the afternoon but started to clear by evening. We were picked up at our hotel, right on time. The guide was enthusiastic and said we should prepare for an exciting night. Apparently the indicators for great viewing were very high. And boy oh boy he was right! The night started pretty cloudy but continued to clear as the night went on. The very first stop we saw lights emanating through the clouds. A little subdued but exciting as this was our first glimpse. Our guide said we should keep moving as it was less cloudy at the next stop. And it was! Very good viewing, there. Unfortunately a larger tour arrived that consisted of a lot of folks snapping away with flash cameras. Not sure what these people thought they'd get but whatever. Our guide ushered us out of there and we stopped three or four more places each stop better than the last. It was cold but was brilliant! Highly recommend this tour!

We used GTI based on a suggestion from our hotel, and ended up being pleased overall. We used them for 3 trips - Golden Circle, South Coast Adventure, and Northern Lights.

Golden Circle was amazing. The sites are all good, and if I were to go again I would honestly probably rent a car, but it was good to have the driver to give us some background. He did a really great job of explaining things and pointing out interesting tidbits. He also made a couple of "unscheduled" stops along the way to see a crater and an additional waterfall that were nice.

South Coast was good but overpriced. The drive is pretty far, and while the waterfalls you see are pretty amazing, and the beach down near Vik has some impressive geologic structures, on this trip I really felt like I was more price-gouged. The trip was the same amount of time as the Golden Circle and only slightly more miles, but cost almost double. I really thought the sites were nice and well worth seeing, but we didn't have as good of a driver (had to prod for information) and the cost was too high.

The Northern Lights were good as well. We didn't have a good night for it - the solar activity was a little weak, but it was the only night in about a 10 day period where there was going to be a clear sky, so they took us out anyway. I felt a little like they were going out just to make sure they got some money, but they really did try to find the lights, and we did end up seeing them, but were just disappointed that they were more of a dull white rather than the vibrant dancing greens and reds and purples that you imagine. Not GTI's fault though, of course, and even so I was willing to pay the $50 or whatever to see even the dull whites.

Overall we were happy with the service we got from GTI. The best part was the small vans, with no more than 10 people on board. This allowed for less of a "tour" feel and allowed more interaction with the driver.

We booked GTI for our Golden Circle tour as well as our Northern Lights tour and were lucky enough to have to same tour guide for both - Dooley (sorry if that's the wrong spelling!)

We are so glad we booked with them - as a relatively small company their tours are much more intimate and can be tailored to each group which large coach tours simply can't. We also got to visit places which large tours are banned from visiting which was another huge plus.

Dooley was so friendly and, being a local, knew so much about all the sighs and Iceland itself. It was really interesting to talk to him as we drove around from place to place, finding out from a native what they think of Iceland.
If you're going to book any tours, we couldn't recommend this company highly enough.

We enjoyed the tours we booked with GTI. We did the Golden Circle on a rainy day, the Blue Lagoon on a blustery sunshine and showers day followed by the Northern Lights in the evening. Perfect! Seeing Northern Lights was a special treat as the trip had been cancelled due to the weather the previous two nights. And we found a great spot to view before other tour buses arrived. It was a perfect introduction to Iceland.
