“Great food good vaue”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

A great place to stop for fresh fish kebabs, grilled to perfection with a nice skewer of potatoes on the side . The lobster soup was tasty if a little watery and not too much lobster in it. The staff were efficient if a little too interested in their own giggles and phone photographs . Worth a visit and probably a really good lunch stop, more than a romantic night out.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed February 15, 2014 via mobile

If you have a problem with peppers (sweet or hot) you do not want to come to this restaurant. The lobster soup has a kick and has bell peppers in it. Every skewer also is loaded with bell peppers. The cod was overcooked, salmon was good, but the shrimp and scallops were heavenly. Very fresh! Very good bread.

“A must for luch”
Reviewed February 15, 2014

This is a must visit restaurant - really traditional and the lobster soup was excellent - you sit on barrels in what was an old fisherman house -- coffee and water and free. They aklso did fish brochettes that were cooked fresh to order -- superb

“Awesome Lobster Soup”
Reviewed February 13, 2014

I really enjoyed the Lobster Soup. That in itself, with the bread is a meal.
But we did also have some fish, I had some plaice and and my wife had scallops, along with some grilled potatoes.
I also liked the atmosphere of this place. And it is a very children friendly place, as is Iceland in general. But at the Sea Baron, there is a play room full of toys for the kids! Very nice and impressed about it.

Great place! Great food! Will be back.

“Nice soup!”
Reviewed February 11, 2014 via mobile

We came here after reading the reviews as we both love lobster bisque. We didn't get there until 9pm and only ordered the soup as a warm up supper although the kebabs looked interesting and quite good value. Soup and bread was £6 so quite reasonable. We ordered a beer and wine to go with it which came to £7.50 (again not bad given the city prices). As it was so late and we were the only people in there we were surprised to have no food after half an hour. There was a lot of kitchen noise so we thought maybe they were having to do a new batch or something. We then got to the 40 minute mark and were questioning whether we'd actually ordered the soup when our original waitress saw us sat without bowls and it was panic stations! We were impressed by the honesty of being told our soup had been forgotten and so they were refunding our money. The soup arrived minutes later. It was lovely(especially after such a long wait!) although it didn't have the creaminess usually associated with bisque. There were big lumps of lobster though which were delicious. I think in normal circumstances this would be a good place to get out of the cold and have a good value bowl of delicious soup before getting on with your day. You could make a bit more of a meal of it with the kebabs but it's not fine dining and doesn't pretend to be. Worth a visit.
