We had two lobster bisques as well as Cod and Scallop skewers. Very fresh and for the price it was worth it. Got the impression this was a local hangout for it was not in a touristy area of town. Quaint and clean surroundings. A must when passing through town.

An authentic Icelandic food and anthropological experience! Great roasted fish and yummy langoustine soup at a very affordable price! The queue is all worth it!

I came to the sea baron because everybidy was talking about it, every magazine seemed to have a feature about it.
They Lobster Soup they offer is to die for! For sure the best I ever had. The skewers I had, one scallop and whale skewer, tasted good, but lacked salt and basic spices. The offered all kinds of sauces in bottles to add some flavors, but I would encourage the chef to be more offensive using herbs, spices and salt. The whale skewer, beeing very lean meat, could use some fat (spicy herbs oil or somerhing) to transport the taste better.

Totally charming, small, informal little shack. Order at counter and they deliver to beat up tables outside. Lobster soup and bread were fantastic.
Throw in a cold beer and you have ideal lunch. We liked it so much we made a point of going back...and recommended to some pals who were coming to Reykjavik the following week.

We ate at the Sea Baron restaurant and each enjoyed a bowl of Lobster Soup. I would call it more of a bisque. The soup came with a large loaf of bread. You order when you come in the door, pay, and they bring you the food. There are a couple places to eat and we chose to go upstairs. It was very quiet and casual. They somehow forgot our soup so after a long wait we checked on it. As a result they wrote off one of the beers. That gesture shows they value their customers.
