Rated as one of the top sights in the city but I'm not sure why.
Yes it is nice but not that good. It looked better with Yoko Ono peace tower in the distance

The smooth lines of this sculpture are just so beautiful.

Add to that the backdrop of Mt Esja across the fjord and the thought that there are so few North of you from this point; it is a wonderful feeling.

Come down early on a Sunday morning and even the road behind you will be quiet. I just love this place and the sculpture.

If you are in Reykjavik, then you must put in the few minutes walk from the town centre to visit this place.

Each time I come to Reykjavik, and that is about twice a year for the last 20 years, I make time to come here...

(In case you don't know where it is, head down to the seafront from the town centre; turn right to walk past the Opera House, Harpa, and continue for about another 800 meters; you can't miss it.)

We tried to see this sculpture during the "super weather" last week and couldn't even get within 2 blocks because of the wind!

It's a beautiful sculpture with a gorgeous setting but probably best suited for a summer visit. Also you need to cross a busy (by Iceland standards, anyway) street. Fit it in if you're at the Harpa, but not worth it's own trip.

The backdrop to this sculpture is superb, with the mountains in the background, on a clear day, it makes for an amazing photograph!

Excellent embrace of the viking past! Right on the waterfront, about 1/4 mile from the Harpa. Prettier on a sunny day, still striking on a cold rainy day.
