We went to this place based on the tripadvisor reviews & it didnt disappoint. We opted for the tasting menu which gave us 4 starters, 1 sushi, 3 mains & a selection of desserts. Due to this the meal ended up being around 3 hours but we didnt mind. The starters they gave us were the minke whale (done as a sashimi, with a texture like tuna), the ocean perch, the rock shrimp tempura & wasabi salad. The sushi was the volcano langoustine maki and a scallop nigiri. The mains were the lightly salted cod, the salmon & the lamb. Dessert was the warm chocolate cake, the white chocolate cheesecake, lychee creme brulee & 2 sorbets.
All of the food was fresh, perfect tasting portions & delicious. The service was very good, with the staff all speaking excellent english. All up, including several drinks & coffee our meal was around $270 for 2 people which is expensive by most standards but actually on par with most Iceland restaurants. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant when visiting Reykavik.
