One of my icelandic collegues back home recommended this restaurant so on our last night in Reykjavik, we decided to go. He said we must try the tasting menu they offer and since something like this in Norway would cost a years sallary, we decided to opt for this...and we deffinetly did not regret it!! We got served 9 dishes in about 2, 2.5 hours. We got served seafood, meat, poultry, and a dessert to die for! We had heard that one of the dishes was sushi and as none of us like this, we asked the waiter if it was possible to get something else. He came back and asked us if pork ribs would do and of course it did! We really appreciated this, really good service. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing, and the staff were..you guessed it..amazing!! We recommend this restaurant to anyone going to Reykjavik!

My 15 year old son and I had a fantastic meal here on a pre-Christmas trip to Reykjavik. We booked an early table at short notice and had the 10 course taster menu. Whilst it was expensive, it was well worth the money! The flavours in each dish stood out rather than just being lost in a jumble of plates of food. This was our first night of a long weekend and was a perfect way to start our trip.

This Restaurant is a must if you are visiting Iceland... we chose this restaurant though recommendations from tripadvisor... we wasn't disappointed, we arrived at 6pm when they first opened without making a reservation, when we arrived we was greeted by friendly staff that told us we need to make a reservation they didn't have any tables until 9pm.. However you can eat your meal at the bar if you cannot make 9pm we was told.. so we decided to eat at the bar! This was the best of it! Whilst at the bar you can watch the four world class chefs making and cooking some of the most amazing meals.... we choose taste the menu.. this consists of four starters four, sushi dishes, four main courses and the most amazing desert tray i have ever tasted! Never rushed just a steady flow of the most amazing tasting food a taste of Iceland... what a great end to a short break in Iceland... worth the traveling to Iceland just to visit this restaurant and its outstanding Chefs...

We've been eating there our last night before leaving Iceland. We were expecting some really special food with an Icelandic touch. Although the meals were all nicely prepared and served, the combinations of flavours were rather weird (for mid Europeans). The fish was cooked perfectly and was as expected very fresh. The service was very good and friendly. The restaurant was very loud though, a cross table normal conversation was almost impossible. Ultimately, the meals were good although taste-wise not really our cup of tea; from our point of view though definitely not worth the very high price (180 Euro for 3 with starters)

We had next to last dinner in Reykjavik at the Fish Market. We did the 9 course tasting menu, which for about $70 per person is worth it with the size of portions and varied menu. The staff was informative and attentive providing explanations of each course. We started with the rock shrimp tempura flavored with beet juice, minke whale sashimi with wasabi cream cheese, a white fish cerviche with a truffle cream, sweet tomatoes and a dikon salad. A crispy salad with mandarin, nuts, sushi-soy glazed salmon, salmon and shrimp with roe, a California roll with avocado cream cheese, and snow crab. Slightly salted cod with a waldorf salad and cranberry sauce, grilled slamon with apple fennell salad and parsnip puree. Grilled lamb with Jerusalem artichokes and beets. More, as well as desert with cheese cake sorbet, apple desert. Each of us loved each dish other than the white fish which was bland. Otherwise we raved about the meal. As many restaurants in Reykjavik, The Fish Market is pricey, but we did felt it worth the price. We would return. The presentation is great with great flavors.
