Part I:
We spent our first night in Iceland at Canopy. It’s a cool, contemporary hotel with a very relaxed atmosphere. Practically all public spaces were made into lounging areas. Our room was stylishly designed with gray tone furnishings. I just loved the shower doors, they were super cool!! Everything went well until bedtime. It was Sunday night and people were playing loud music OUTSIDE (not inside) Miami, the bar across the street. We called front desk around 22:30pm, the staff said the next day was a holiday so the people could stay till 1am on the street. Well, they were there basically the WHOLE night, (or morning to be exact). Didn’t sleep much and the next thing I heard was the garbage truck at 5:45am :((
Part II:
We returned to Canopy on the last day of our pan-island tour. This time we were given a room away from the street-side. It was a Monday night and we didn’t hear a thing. We slept so well.
Canopy is a great hotel, very friendly front staff and good buffet breakfast too. Highly recommend for Reykjavík. Just avoid the rooms facing the Miami Bar.

Complimentary breakfast was fabulous. Restaurant high quality and food delicious. Staff at restaurant and bar very friendly and accommodating. Male staff at front desk friendly and very helpful. Female staff gave the impression that you were “bothering them” and were not friendly or welcoming. The city has a very active nightlife and can be quite noisy throughout the night and early morning hours (and I’m talking 3:00-4:00 AM. No air conditioning so I suggest bringing earplugs if you want to have your windows opened.
Within walking distance of just about anything you want to do in the city. Surrounded by many good restaurants and shops.

Excellent location, front service and great vibe. So close to major attractions and shopping. Rooms are wonderful BUT noisy if you’re facing the bar ‘Miami’. Ask for a room away from Miami. Spent an afternoon in the courtyard soaking in the sun and enjoying a drink.

At $330 a night- it doesn’t even have central heating/ air. There’s a radiator- and open the windows if it gets stuffy- no thermostat!

It’s ideally located though in the city center and the breakfast buffet was great

Loved this hotel. The staff were great, location very central and rooms so clean and neat. We arrived early in the am due to the flight from the US but they had the room ready for us to check in and even gave us breakfast coupons for that morning's breakfast. The hotel has a trendy vibe to it but was very comfortable. Right beside bus stop No. 7 to get dropped off from the airport transportation and picked up for tours. Would definitely stay here again on our n ext visit to Iceland. Loved It!!! Breakfast bar was well stocked with a good selection of foods.
