This is a great hotel located right in the center of the city. The property is really nice and there was convenient public parking across the street. However due to its central location the city night life on the weekends can get quite noisy and I was horrified by the noise outside our window on Friday night. Honestly the music and foot traffic kept me up until 3 am. Not recommended for the light sleeper! More

We were so impressed with Canopy by Hilton. The location couldn’t have been better. The suite we had was excellent. It felt very much like home. The bed was extremely comfy. The staff was helpful and very friendly.
We ended up laying over in Reykjavik and the airline put us up at the Canopy. Very nice hotel, small rooms, small beds, but very nicely appointed, nice colors and design. Very comfortable and very clean.

Didn't expect the rooms to be this small. Might have something to do with the Icelandic mindset. Other than that, this would have been a FIVE STAR review. Location is perfect in the middle of Old Reykjavik, included breakfast was marvelous, staff was friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations (unlike what one other reviewer said), and although I thought at first that the street noise was disruptive, I discovered that one of our windows had been left open a bit. These windows are at least double pane, maybe triple, and once I closed the window completely the noise was totally blocked and sleep was easy. Overall, a great place to stay!

The Canopy is in a great location for getting around town. We were able to walk to restaurants and the pier area. It was however very noisy at night. There were people talking/yelling in the courtyard late at night so ear plugs are necessary. The rooms are well done but small compared to US hotels. Despite the small size, everything you need was there. The included breakfast was very good. Our only issue was that the staff in general was not all that friendly or helpful. There were definitely exceptions but we didn't feel overly welcome.

Room is modern and clean. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Bar and restarant are great. You can walk from this hotel to many restaurants, shops, bars, and other fun sites. Just be aware that there is no obvious entrance or place to drive up and unload very easily. We drove up to the back, but that is really not the right place to go, and no bellman outside. The usual parking place is a covered garage around the corner. I would just park there and wheel your bag over to the hotel.
