We had the most amazing sea kayaking trip, with wild camping at a beautiful bay. Thank you so much to our fantastic guide Ronja who made the trip so much fun and looked after us so well!
Hi Jeanette and thank you for taking your time to write this positive review.
We're glad that you liked our kayak tour. Ronja is a great guide, we're lucky to have her as one of our team members.
All the best from the team of Borea Adventures.
This was the experience of a lifetime. Our group had such a fantastic adventure going through the beautiful (and at times challenging) nature reserve. Max was an excellent guide, we could not have asked for anyone better to guide us and cooked some fantastic meals. He showed great expertise and ease in helping me through some of the tougher bits, and was just a lovely chap all around. Everyone at Borea Adventures were so welcoming and helpful, we could not have asked for a better company to travel with.
Hi Jamie.
It makes us so happy to read your very positive review. That ensures us that we're doing the things we love well, so others can enjoy this magnificent area as Hornstrandir Nature Reserve is.
We're lucky to have Max in our team. He is a very good guide. We're glad you liked the Lost Fjords hike :)

I was part of a custom, two day kayaking tour from Isafjordur with five friends plus our tour guide, Ronja Lundberg. I had the least sea kayaking experience out of the group and between the rest of the group and Ronja, they made sure I felt right at home on the water. We got to see the amazing geography and wildlife of Iceland from a perspective I will never forget. Our trip started a bit later in the day and we encountered some strong winds & waves earlier than expected so Ronja brought us to safety at a beach to wait out the weather. On the approach to the beach I took a large wave and an unexpected "swim" in ~10ft water (everything turned out alright and it was quite refreshing honestly). By the time we got to shore and I was situated, Ronja had a change of clothes, hot tea, and a tepee set up to be out of any wind. After the weather calmed down, the group went back out for a night paddle into the midnight sun and we spent the night in the most beautiful campsite I've ever been in (see photo). The following morning I found a message in a bottle (I could not even make this up) before we embarked on the second half of the trip to Vigur island to see puffins and seals. I can't give credit to Borea for the message in the bottle, sorry! That has to go to Iceland, a place of wonder and amazement =)
If you are thinking of going to Iceland and thinking of taking a kayaking trip, request Ronja! She was full of smiles the entire time, always upbeat and full of energy, and never complained when the group or the weather wanted to change plans.
Hi hi and thank you for your positive review.
Ronja, our smiling guide, is great :) we're lucky to have her in our team.

We did the 4-hour Hornstrandir Panoramic View hiking tour with the best guide, Hakon! (Forgive me, Hakon, if I misspelled your name.) The tour starts on a boat ride from Isafjordur to the Kviar area. Our family and Hakon were the only ones dropped off at this beautiful spot, where we walked up the mountain over moss, rocks, streams, and snow. We stopped for a picnic lunch along the way, which was made and packed by Braedraborg Cafe, and continued our hike to the top. Lunch was delicious! And the view at the top was breathtaking! The hike down was a little more difficult because some of the rocky patches were quite steep, but Hakon made sure we were all safe. In addition to that outstanding view, the pay-off for our 4 hours of hiking was reaching the farmhouse set in a sea of colorful wildflowers on the other side of the mountain. While we explored the beach and the surroundings, Runar and his team, including Hakon, fixed the most delicious fish dinner for us. After dinner, we explored some more and found the most adorable Arctic fox. It was a perfect day!
Hi Sheri and thank you so much for taking your time to write this positive review.
We're so glad that we are able to invite people to go for a hike that ends in Kvíar, it's one of our most favorite places :)
Hákon is one of our young local guides, that has been brought up in this environment and is now becoming one of our best guides.
Thank you for taking the hike with us, we're glad you liked it.
All the best from the Borea Adventures team.
We bought this sailing trip to Hornstrandir, at Hornvik. The sailing takes about 3 hours.
After about 1 hour the boat stops because they saw a whale. What a treat. We only bought sailing but also got to see whales. It was not included in the trip, they just stopped anyway so we could see the whale. When we came to Hornvik they sailed around this unbelivable amazing clip. So super service. We needed to go home earlier than expected and there was no problem in changing the tickets. They are just super service minded.
The valley to valley hike with Orvar was fantastic. He was a fun and professional guide; explaining the geology of the area, throwing snowballs with the kids, and setting a good pace.
