This motel and adjacent campsite are nothing more of an afterthought to Alex's car garage next door. Its a small place with a handful of tiny rooms, it reminded me more of a cheap student dorm. No TV's in the rooms and absolutely nothing to do or see nearby, the sole entertainment being the small TV in reception to fight over with the other guests. The saving grace is a large common kitchen/dining area, though it was pretty messy when I was there, the cleaner only comes once a day it seems. The noise from groups in the kitchen and reception/lounge areas is also a bit annoying.
Its saving grace is that its a fraction of the price of the ridiculously expensive hotels in the Keflavik/airport area and it is very close to the airport, less than 5 minutes drive away. Just make sure you arrive at the airport very early for your morning flight, all the flights from Iceland to Europe leave roughly the same time and it gets very busy. Furthermore, you're not missing much by staying in Keflavik itself, a very unimpressive and grim looking town.
I did like the touch of the hotel providing pre-made breakfasts too to take from the fridge in the morning.
Now if somebody was to set up a hotel in the Keflavik area offering reasonable mid-range accommodation at a reasonable mid-range price, they'd make a fortune.
