This is a nice, clean, quiet hotel with good parking and a good distance to the airport (not too near yet not too far!) and is easy to find. We stayed here twice and the rooms were of a good size both times. We also used the restaurant for dinner and the food and service was great.

Only problem (not taken up with the management) was that we booked one twin and one double but were given two twins.

Would definitely recommend for arrivals and departures from Keflavik airport.

Room Tip: Front facing rooms can be bright at night due to thin curtains and bright street lights.

Dear guest,

Thank you for yoru kind review. We're really glad that you liked your stay and thrilled that you liked your restaurant, it would be really nice to see your review on our restaurant, Cafe Idno, on Tripadvisor as well :)

We're sorry about the problem with the rooms, but of course you should have received a double instead of a twin.

Thank you for reccomending us to other guests.

Best regards

We stayed in this hotel for two nights en route to Paris. It was a right decision. The flight to Paris (and most European destinations) was at 7:40am. It would be a big hassle to get to the airport from Reykjavik that early, but from this hotel it's just a 5 min drive. Besides, this hotel served breakfast starting at 5am, which gave us ample time to eat all the goodies. We were up early not only because of the flight, but also due to the jetlag.

We booked family rooms, which were on the top floor. There were 5 suites on this floor, with some variations to accommodate different number of guests. Hotel staff were very helpful of choosing the best suite for us. There was also a large common area on the same floor with TV, sofas, and cocktail table, and access to the balcony. The hotel was close to the sea. Keflavik was a cute little town by itself, and is much closer to Blue Lagoon than Reykjavik is. Although most sightseeing destinations were on the east side of Reykjavik (ie, further away from Keflavik), we felt it's worth to stay at Keflavik and drove the extra distance.

What a great surprise. This was the perfect spot for us to stay the night before our flight out of Keflavik. We booked a Family Room through tingo.com. The room had two separate rooms and, despite what others have said, it was a nice size for our family of 5.

Don't miss the buffet breakfast. It was included, has a tremendous selection and was one of the best complimentary breakfasts we've had.

Good hotel close to the airport. Easy parking. Good sized family room. Great buffet breakfast with lots of choice for the whole family. Take the walk to the harbour and you may be lucky to see dolphins

I have never stayed in Keflavik before when traveling to Iceland. But I will never miss Hotel Keflavik again when traveling to Iceland and Reykjavik. My room was a deluxe room and looked new to me - design look and very comfortable and clean.
The location is very good and I got a free taxi to the airport - only 5 minutes drive. The best breakfast ever served from 5am - and it is fresh and simply amazing.
Got also very nice salmon in there restaurant.

So if you are in Iceland you should check the availability - I was lucky as the hotel was fully booked and I only made the reservation the day before.

Room Tip: Just try it out - everything better than expected.

This hotel is located near the airport and they allowed us to check-in early when we arrived at 7am for an extra $50. The breakfast buffet is amazing, everything that you could possibly want is there. The rooms are tiny- they reminded me of NYC hotel rooms, but they are sufficient for sleeping! (For reference, we had a delux room) There was plenty of parking and you could walk to the restaurants on the main street in town, which of course is always nice!

Room Tip: The deluxe room was very small.

Hótel Keflavík is quite a decent hotel. The rooms are nice and clean, if perhaps slightly dated, the staff are quite efficient, the beds are comfortable and breakfast is plentiful. I stayed in a family bedroom with my children, who were extremely satisfied. Only two things can be complained about: First of all, the windows were so covered with salt from the sea that the view was all but non-existent. Secondly, a receptionist phoned at 12 noon (checkout-time), when we were just about to leave, to inform us that it was time to check out and that the maid had only this one room to clean before getting her Easter break (!). In my humble opinion, guests deserve a little more patience and courtesy.

Dear Helgi,

Thank you for your kind review. I'm glad you liked your stay, the breakfast, the beds and so on. But i'm sorry that you felt that your room was dated, but as we have confirmed before, our hotel is in the process of renovating, we have renovated 17 rooms during this winter out of 68 and hope to finish 32 rooms before the summer. We have also renovated 40 bathrooms in the hotel out of total 70.

But one thing that i'm really shocked to hear is that you were rushed out of your room at 12:00. The check in time is, as you said, at 12:00 and we often let our guests stay a bit longer without hesitation. I will find out why this happened as it's not acceptable for the guest to be rushed out of the room!

I'm though glad that you liked your overall stay. And to compensate for your inconvenience please contact me directly when you want to stay with us again and we'll try to put together something nice for you!

Best regards.
