“Hotel Berg a little hidden gem”

Very very welcoming! Rooms a modern chic look and very very clean. Safe, Tv, toiletries and lovely view. Tea/coffee help yourself in the lounge, which looks very traditional and again very clean. Staff were so helpful when I asked about advice on trips. I used this as a hotel close to airport for early flight back but I would have stayed here the full duration.

This was our first time visiting Iceland and it was my friends 50th Birthday and my Birthday. we were also there for valentines day. We had booked a 7 days holiday. When we got to Reykjavik airport and phoned the Hotel and within ten minutes the owner of the hotel picked us up. I was disappointed there was no snow :-( that's just right for us as we left the snow at home in England lol. On the way to the hotel the owner was friendly and gave us some local information and recommendations on where to eat and visit. When we got to the hotel it was early afternoon and received a warm welcome by Mrs Berg & Thomas the dog :-). Mrs Berg showed us around and there was cake, biscuits, tea and coffee for us to help ourselves to. The hotel smelt lovely and it was set out with a homely feel. When we got to our rooms we were more than happy with the layout. The beds were very comfortable and the room was tastefully done. I can honestly say there was nothing negative about the room. The next day we got up for breakfast and was very pleasantly surprised. There was a choice of lovely breads, Ham's,cheeses, salmon and eggs. There was fruit, jams, orange and apple juice. Tea,coffee and hot chocolate. There was also a waffle maker also help-yourself :-) lovely stuff. You could eat as much or as less as you liked. The one thing I really liked was the relaxed atmosphere, no rushing to clear breakfast away at 10.00. Thank you for that. We hired a car for 4 days and the gentle man who delivered the car was great and very helpful. We had uses of the hotel's iPad and binoculars which came in very helpful. Iceland did not disappoint. We were lucky to have 4 clear nights to see the Northern lights :-) 3 of them where right out side the hotel on the hill. It was beautiful I will never forget it. So I would like to thank the owners of the Hotel Berg and your family for making our holiday to Iceland a memorable one. X

We concur highly with all the other reviews about the Hotel Berg. Welcoming, helpful staff, that stayed up late to come and get us from the airport even though our flight was 1 hour late and landed in the small hours.

The room was stunning - a huge bathroom with jacuzzi, wet room style shower, TV by the jacuzzi, big comfy bed. Breakfast was an excellent selection.

Really do stay here. Best hotel Ive stayed at in years for the price. We were just sorry we were only passing through and only had one night.

Stayed for three nights, great little place, comfy lounge, help yourself to tea and coffee 24/7. Continental style breakfast normally puts me off but this is top notch. View from the lounge across to Reykjavik to the little fishing harbour a stones throw. Small High Street a really easy five minute walk with a couple of bars, great restaurant the other side of the harbour. Owner has the policy of making sure that they would want to stay there. Highly recommended.

Stayed for just 1 night before an early flight in the morning, wish that we spent some more time. This has been the nicest place we stayed in during our iceland trip.

The hotel is small and feels like a home. Very personal, nicely decorated and with excellent rooms. The hotel is new, opened in 2011, everything is beautifully styled with taste, very warm interiors. The box spring bed was outstanding (a nice change compared to the average icelandic bed we slept in).
The personal we met was extremely friendly and helpfull. They did their utmost to make our short stay comfortable. The owner, a very nice lady, gave us some usefull tips for some day trips on the peninsula. Other services: very early breakfast from 4 am, free use of ipad, coffeemachine, parking, etc. 5 min drive from the airport, nice harbour view.
Opposite of the hotel was a very good restaurant, specialised in fresh fish. It was referred to as the 'best restaurant in town' and that proved to be true. We ate our best diner overthere in a very cosy atmosphere.

All in all a short but wonderful stay. A very nice last day of any iceland trip. I can surely recommend this small hotel. Next trip to iceland we will certainly stay here again

Seriously, I thought from the reviews that this place would be cute, but it was even better than expected. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home and to help us with transport from the airport and to Reykjavik, there's a on-demand coffee/tea/cocoa machine that you can use 24/7, breakfast was a nice variety of traditional Icelandic breakfast foods (including waffles--which are almost stroopwafel thin and perfect for spreading with Nutella), and the room was very spacious and clean.

We ended up staying in a suite, which had the "bedroom" in a loft overhead, a small sitting room with huge ground-floor windows over the tiny harbor, and a nicely-sized bathroom. We kept saying that if there was just a little kitchen tucked away somewhere, it'd be the perfect city apartment: small but very homey and functional.

The only thing I can mention that might be a negative for some folks is that the candles or potpourri that they have throughout the hotel--it almost smells like strong air freshener in a car where someone's trying to cover up cigarette smoke, so there was this weird constant feeling that someone had been smoking there (even though I'm sure they weren't). I'm probably the only person it would ever bother, though, but if you're ultra-sensitive to scents, you might want to keep it in mind.

Highly recommended!

Room Tip: If it's in your budget to get a suite, I'd recommend it, especially if you're staying mo...

Amazing place. Having stayed elsewhere in Keflavik before I was blown away by the quality and friendliness of this hotel. It is situated close to the sea in an extremely quiet part of the town. It used to be (and still is) the owners home, but they have extended it with high quality funishings. I stay a lot in hotels and don't sleep very well, but I slept amazingly well in the comfortable bed.

No need to look elsewhere for a hotel in Keflavik!

Room Tip: Room 12 was fantastic.
