This is quite possibly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.
It is right next to the water, with a nice hiking trail along the coast line. There is a great restaurant just across from it, with excellent food and good prices.

The hotel itself is so cozy - it smells so good! The rooms are very nice. They have little snacks available to you, an honesty bar with wine/beer, breakfast. Coffee/tea is available all the time. The rooms all have wifi. There is a hot tub on the deck, though we didn't use it but it looks nice.

The staff are very friendly, and overall the whole place is relaxed, quiet, and comfortable. They offer free transportation to and from the airport.

Of all the hotels we have stayed in, this is one of the best. It is my favorite Iceland hotel, and much less expensive than many of the others. We will definitely stay here again - i can't wait to come back to this hotel. It really is wonderful.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night in November as a convenient base for the Blue Lagoon Spa and Keflavik airport. I suspect this is the case for many travellers, but we were pleasantly surprised by the welcoming ‘village’ feel of Keflavik from our experience. The hotel was excellent with an informal, family home impression. The rooms were clean, comfy and attractively decorated and ours had a great view out over the small adjacent harbour. Staff were very friendly and we dined at the fish restaurant, ‘Duus’, opposite on their recommendation, which did not disappoint. Breakfast was perfectly adequate and set us up for the day. I would have no hesitation in staying here again or in recommending the hotel to others.

We only stayed here 2 nights while spending some time in Keflavik and surrounding areas, but the hotel was wonderful. It is a very cute place. Set up more like a house then a hotel. Our room was small but enough room for 2. Very nice facilities, bed, and bathroom! The staff was kind and helpful with everything! Free shuttle to and from the airport as well which was very helpful. It is not located in the center of town, but restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance.

I was looking for somewhere special to take my wife Debbie for our 25th wedding anniversary when I stumbled upon Trip Advisor's reviews of Hotel Berg. I would describe us a 'discerning travelers' who are always looking for value for money. Hotel Berg does not disappoint!

Great location - minutes from the international airport but nestled away in a residential area of the small town of Keflavik
Very peaceful area with great views of the quaint harbour and town
Lovely rooms - very clean and modern
Very tasty buffer breakfast - European continental style with local meats, cheeses and jams
Very friendly staff - this is more of a B&B than a hotel

Ideally located to explore Rekyavik and the Reykjanes peninsula

We stayed for 3 nights and were made very welcome by owners Olaf and Arnar. Karolina the receptionist was very friendly.

Take your time to explore the area - get some good maps and turn off the "avoid unsealed roads" option and explore the breathtaking coastal scenery, lakes, thermal springs and lighthouse on the way to Grindavik.

Kaffi Duus is a 5 minute walk from the hotel - try the seafood trio a la Duus platter!
Langbest is an un-assuming pizzeria in town but their pizzas are awesome!

Even visiting the local supermarket is an adventure - of course everything is in Icelandic but that's half the fun. We nicknamed the local chain "Piggy Bonus" - try the marshmallow rolls coated in chocolate and coconut!

As for the Northern Lights... we were lucky enough to experience them on all 3 of the nights we were there!

Our anniversary trip to Iceland was made even more memorable by our stay at the Berg

We were breaking a flight overnight so we could re-do the Blue Lagoon. Arriving at 0645 the hotel car was with us in five minutes - we were shown our room, and invited to breakfast. Our room was an end one overlooking the fishing harbour; a stairway to a loft might be a problem for some, and for drinkers! The wall thermostat we deduce is a placebo, underfloor heating is consistant throughout. Our room had a poor window seal (lower left) and ambient was low!
Staff were exceedingly helpful; understand we were driven to the hotel in a Range Rover; back to the airport to catch bus to Blue Lagoon (careful timing, only 2 trips per day ) and back afterwards; then to local pharmacy round trip for cold medicines; then on departure to airport. All at no charge and aggressivily resisited tipping. Plus we had two breakfasts, and more time than usual in the room for only one night's charge. Which was very fair. Excellent stay, wish them well

This hotel is very well situated just a few minutes drive from the airport. We stayed here twice during our week in Iceland; on arrival at the beginning of the week, and prior to our departure at the end of our holiday, due to our late night/early morning flight times. We were hoping for a shuttle service to the hotel on our arrival in Iceland just after midnight, but arrived to find nobody waiting for us, so we jumped in a taxi, and were greeted by a very sleepy, not particularly happy to see us young man at the hotel. The rooms are immaculate and well equipped and there is a lovely home-from-home feel to this place, with a help yourself buffet breakfast and coffee on tap in the main communal dining room. There is even a hot tub though we did not have time to make use of it. We had booked a car rental through the hotel, and the car was ready outside for us when we woke up on our first morning, this was a really useful service, being able to simply drive the car back there at the end of the week and make use of the free shuttle back to the airport (which we did do on our departure), and were really impressed that breakfast was available at 4am prior to our departure. Unfortunately, we were given an unscheduled wake-up call at 12.50am (we didn't need to wake up until 4am) and I think the call was meant for another room. Special mention really must go to the owner of this hotel though, she is so friendly and helpful, and went out of her way to make our stay in Iceland enjoyable, showing us a scenic route to take on the map on our first morning there. We hope to return to Iceland and would book this hotel again, despite a couple of tiny hiccups. Highly recommended.

We stayed here having arrived at the airport in late afternoon - a great find.
Very nice staff, lots of candles, cosy and brand new room which was very comfortable.
Nice location overlooking a very pretty harbour.
Stone's throw from great restaurant with lovely fish called Cafe Duus.
Breakfast was fun - just get it yourself and make your own waffles.
Lovely huge picture window - perfect for morning coffee.
They were open for dinner but we ate out.
An ideal first or last night near the airport.

Room Tip: Book early!
