the hotel is located by the ocean on a clif, you can see the northern light in the middle of the night. very close to the airport but you don't hear the planes, it is very quite here. staffs are very friendly and helpful, they give honest opinons on the tours and they can book them if you wish to join. rooms are very clean, although they only make up my room once during my 4 nights stay but they gave me new towels every day, i totally don't mind about that since i made my own bed everyday and i don't make a mess. the breakfast is pretty standard buffet. they have a big selection of books and dvds if you wish to stay in early. there is a nice resturant accross the hotel and the museum is right next to it. oh, the family have a very cute bulldog and it is very friendly. i enjoyed my stay very much, and will comeback to stay next time I am in Iceland.

We decided to stay our final night Iceland near the airport. Hotel Berg is a new, small family run hotel just above Keflavik harbour. It is a friendly, cosy hotel. Our room, 4, had everything that we needed for one night, including complimentary wifi, in room safe, and hair dryer. The beds were comfortable and the room quiet.

Complimentary coffee and tea is always available in the sitting room. There are lots of brochures about what to see on the peninsula, and there are many more attractions than just the Blue Lagoon. We had time in the morning to drive the tip of the peninsula to the bridge between two continents.

Breakfast was tasty with cereals, yogurts, cold cuts, hard boiled eggs, breads, jams, fresh fruit and a egg and bacon bake, as well as juices, tea and coffee. We were asked at check in as to the time of our departing flight so that if it was early some breakfast could have been put out.

Recommend for a cosy stay in Iceland and a chance to do some more exploring of the surprisingly interesting Reykjanes peninsula where there is much more to see than the Blue Lagoon.

Hotel Berg is beautifully furnished throughout to a high standard giving an elegant feel to this small family run hotel. Everything is top quality and very comfortable, it is clear a great deal of thought has been given to its design and money has not been spared. The rooms are immaculate with good beds, large flat screen television and plush bathroom with a top of the range shower. A selection of hot drinks are readily available from the lounge. Early morning breakfasts are from 4 am with a good variety of hot and cold options, the fresh fruit including melon was most welcome. Hotel Berg is only a 5 minutes drive from the airport yet in a lovely position overlooking the harbour at Keflavik. Free airport transfers are provided if required. Hotel Berg is an ideal base for a couple of nights to explore the sights on the Reykjanes peninsula. The staff are extremely helpful and welcoming, they obviously want to provide the very best and have certainly achieved this.

I stayed here with my parents in July 2012 for one night during our transit back home to the U.S. We had a great experience. The room was really clean and the furniture was very cute. We arrived from the airport very late at night (around 1 a.m.) and the owners left a note on the front desk with a key to our room; it was so nice they hadn't locked us out or forgotten we were checking in. Breakfast the next morning was homemade and very good. The owners then arranged a cab for us back to the airport (they normally take guests to the airport but that day there was a flat tire). I rate this 5 stars and highly recommend it to other travelers!

We were delighted with Hotel Berg...the new building is well designed and extremely practical for visitors to Keflavik. The staff were very helpful - with breakfast available by 4am to enable catching even the earliest flights...and an eager offer to drop off at the airport. The rooms have very modern and interesting furnishings - and the photos of the somewhat old fashioned furniture in the common rooms do not do them justice.

This place meets the definition of a perfect bed and breakfast. It's a bit larger than most B&B's we've been too, with the rooms being on a wing that was built on to an existing house. The owners are friendly and helpful, being willing to pick people up at the airport in the middle of the night. The rooms are new and well furnished. The breakfast was extensive and varied. The place is in the top of a small cliff near the harbor, so there's even a bit of a view from the lobby. I wish this place was more in the center of the island so we could stay longer. Being in Keflavik, there's limited touring possibilities from here. The only thing I can say against it is some people may not find the frosted glass bathroom door to their liking. But by all means, stay here going to or from the airport.
