We stayed one night during to Iceland. The staff is great , you can always ask them tips about the weather, road conditions, .....
The room was clean and the breakfast good.
The dinner was really expensive even if the food was fresh and good.

Room Tip: Ask for price of the dinner before booking a table

We stayed one night in the shared bathroom building. The building was new with wooden floor, feels like home.

It come with 2 bathrooms for everyone to use. And it was clean and big. There was also a kitchen and living room area.

Breakfast was just like any other hotels in Iceland, cold meats, cheeses, breads, eggs and selection of home made breads too.

Overall, it is a great hotel in a Good location.

We stayed in a new wing of the guesthouse. Everything is spotlessly clean. This guesthouse is nearJokulsarlon glacier lagoon so it was very convenient for us to travel to watch the sunrise. Kitchenette is to by shared with other guests but everyone made an effort to keep the utensils and surroundings clean. A very pleasant stay. I also got to see the northern lights from the guesthouse. There was a spectacular display of lights for that one night that I stayed there and it made it a memorable trip for me and my friends.

we originally booked an ensuite room, but we arrived about 4.30pm when the building work next door was still taking place (though they only do this 10am - 6pm). the room we were allocated was right next door the where the extension is being built, so we asked if we could move to a room further away. they ended up giving us the "yellow house" instead all to ourselves (normally sleeps 4 in 2 rooms with shared bathroom but they didn't book out the other room). it was fabulous - on the beach, lovely views, well equipped kitchen and lounge all to ourselves. bathroom outside the room but that was fine as it was just us there. loved it. self catered one night and ate in the restaurant one night. nice food, good value, shared a bottle of wine too (cheaper than doing so in Reykjavik). would recommend both accommodation and meals. also it is the closest hotel to Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon - go to the beach for sunrise and sunset - amazing!

Room Tip: the yellow house is fab!

We had a pleasant three-night stay at Hali Country Hotel. We had a private room and shared a kitchen, living room and bathroom with one other guest. our apartment was modern — furnished with mostly IKEA products — and very clean. The kitchen had all the tools we needed and the wifi worked well. Unfortunately there was construction going on just outside our room but work was only done between nine and five. The location is nice but there are no hiking trails within walking distance of the hotel. Jökulsárlón and many hiking trails are only a short drive away.

The complimentary buffet breakfast was excellent. We had one dinner and it was delicious but the portion sizes were too small and it was expensive.

I would recommend staying here for one or two nights to explore Jökulsárlón and the surrounding area.

We spent one night at Hali Country Hotel on our way to Jokulsarlon. The hotel is at a great location. The rooms were very clean, the food was great and the service was wonderful. The restaurant building is a museum which was very interesting. The view from the hotel is beautiful. Even though there is construction going on, it did not bother us at all.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hali. We lucked out and had the upper part of the yellow house. Everything was brand new...the house actually smelled like it had just been built! We had 4 people and were very comfortable in the house. Two bedrooms which accommodate 2 people each and then a comfortable couch in the living room. The kitchen was fully appointed and we made good use since we had stocked up on groceries. The surrounding area is really beautiful & peaceful (house is right on a lake). We even ended up taking a midnight walk with a headlamp so we could truly take in the beautiful night sky.
This place is a perfect place to stay if you have just gone to the glacial lagoon (Jokulsarlon) and don't want to make the long drive back to Reykjavik. Ask for the yellow house; it's amazing!
