We took a private Golden Circle Tour with Mike during our cruise ship stop in Reykjavik. He was quick to respond to email and easy to book online (many months ahead of time!). Mike took us on a wonderful tour of the Golden Circle, driving his comfortable car and customizing to our interest and time restraints along the way. He offered insight into the history and cultural significance of the the sights we were visiting and lots of interesting information about living in Iceland today. Mike is easy to talk with and we had a lovely day visiting this beautiful country!

My husband and I were in Iceland for only 3 days. We contacted Mike and wanted to go out with him on all 3 days, but he was already booked for our third day (book early- he is totally worth it). With consultation with Mike (he was very quick to answer questions and give helpful suggestions when asked), we decided to book the SNÆFELLSNES TOUR and the OASIS AT THE FOOT OF MT. HEKLA tours. Mike wisely advised to determine which tour to take on which day based on the weather. Our first day in Iceland (July 19th) was a bit "wet" but not crazy rain. We did the Oasis tour during which Mike took us to a great variety of locations to witness the beauty of Iceland. We began our day with a stop at a bakery to pick up lunch for later. We visited many different waterfalls throughout the day. Each had a great story which Mike shared. He is VERY knowledgable about Iceland's history, culture and geography and shared this knowledge all throughout the day. He also helped us to choose a venue for our Anniversary Dinner at the end of the tour. The next day, Mike picked us up for another wonderful day heading west. It was the Snaefellsnes tour and we partook of a cruise through beautiful waters (reminded my of Acadia, Maine). We had shared with Mike that we wanted to see Puffins (a bucket list item). This cruise did not disappoint. We saw so many species of birds. Again, Mike shared his knowledge about the wildlife of Iceland as well as other interesting information about Iceland. Later we enjoyed lunch lakeside (with a secret waterfall nearby). We had stopped at the bakery on our way out of Reykjavik again that morning. We then headed further out to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Mike showed us more great waterfalls, some beautiful churches and some amazing views of Snæfellsjökull. We stopped on a beach, examined some beautiful sea arches and even stopped off to enjoy a wonderful dinner with Mike. Mike was a professional at all time. He had contingency plans in the event that weather/life didn't cooperate. He was punctual and easy to chat with. We LOVED having a private tour so that Mike could focus on our specific questions and interests. I HIGHLY recommend taking a trip (or many) with Mike. We would have spent all 3 of our days in Iceland with him had he been available. ENJOY!!

I contacted Mike by e-mail to arrange for a private Golden Circle tour of southwestern Iceland during our cruise's stop in Reykjavik. He was very easy to work with via e-mail, and payment was very easy as well. He met us at the port at the arranged time, wearing a red & white St. Louis Cardinals cap for easy identification. (Mike is American, but has lived in Iceland for years, so he has a unique combination of perfect English and significant knowledge about Iceland.) We got an early start (8am) which worked quite well for us because we missed a lot of the tourist crowds and were able to get more pictures without throngs of onlookers. Mike was very informative, and flexible regarding the sites and durations of each stop along the tour. In addition to the well-known Gulfoss waterfall, he also took us to a lesser-known - but still beautiful - Faxi waterfall. We also saw Kerid crater lake, Skalholt Cathedral, the Strokkur Geysir, and Thingvellir National Park. He was very accommodating to stop for pictures, and to drop us in downtown Reykjavik so we could explore the quaint shopping area. At the end of the day, Mike gave us an extremely detailed itinerary of our tour that was very helpful when we catalogued our photos.

First time I traveled solo and wanted the most from my adventure . A friend of mine had a private tour with Mike. Mike told me stories and we saw everything we could in Nov. I have told everyone that this is the only way to get the feel of this amazing country. Mike was great.

We don't ordinarily use guide services as we prefer to muddle around by ourselves but we don't regret for a moment engaging Mike to show us the attractions of Iceland's Golden Circle. The trip was very relaxing even though we saw all things one can see on the big bus tours, plus some other things, such as the Haldor Laxness home. Mike is extremely knowledgeable about Iceland's history, geology, wildlife, politics, and art but he is low-key and he has a subtle sense of humor. Though the tour lasted in excess of 9 hours, our interest never flagged.
