We were lucky to see this eighteen months ago when we visited Iceland in the summer and were completely enthralled by watching the geyser. This time though it was a very windy day so the wind took away the water vapour before it reached its full height. Still worth a visit but would be more dramatic on a calmer day.

The Geysir – Strokkur is a very popular tourist attraction and is next to a main road with an excellent café/ souvenir shop.
Although it can be busy, it still worth a visit.

Another 'must see' when in Iceland. We went on a Golden Triangle Tour' with Grayline. Unfortunately, as this was in December & the last place we visited on the 6 hour tour, the light was starting to fade on our arrival. We did however get to see the geyser in all it's glory and it was an absolutely fantastic display of nature. There is a café on site which also sells woollen clothing & a nice gift shop. Far exceeded my expectations and would definitely visit again.

This geyser was fantastic to watch for ~30-45 minutes. We got there late afternoon, so there was still sunlight but the crowd was dying down a bit, hence the views were amazing and picture-perfect. If you stand upwind, you can get good video of the 1.5 seconds of pre-eruption bubbling, which is le-git! The outlined perimeter is just the right distance to get high-quality pics of the geyser and the bubbling hole in the ground. Have your bathroom pit-stop there and then go to Gullfoss while you're at it.

We witnessed the explosion of one of the geyser and it was totally awesome! Loved our visit , there are several geysers in the area and it was really cool to see 'em all!
