Located in the town centre. the place is nice and clean. good to be based in Akureyri. the downside is you need to pay for the use of quilt and supermarket seems like a bit of walk if you don't have a car. it has kitechen and in the room locker. shower only in the basement. Room rate includes one welcome drink. staff are helpful. beds are a bit squeaky when moving your body.

The staff were very kind and helpful. You get free beer and coffee with your stay, what more do you need? Everything was very clean and quite centrally located in the city, walking distance from anything you would need. This was a very comfortable stay and we meet some other friendly hikers. We would highly recommend this place and would definitely return. Parking is free at the information center, which is near by.
I only went to the bar, so I can't tell anything about the hostel.
The bar is a cosy place with free wifi, you can eat something (didn't order anything) and have a beer. Happy hour from 17-19 (5pm - 7pm) with all draft beers being the cheapest in town.

We stayed there two nights in a 8 bed room. The place is propably the best bar to have some drinks in Akureyri, good vibes and a lot of young people.
Good room and bathroom, good internet connection and good food for dinner.
For the price I think that Backpackers is top in Akureyri.
The lobby of this well located hostel is very friendly and allows discussions between the backpackers. Nice little room by the window where people can meet. Kitchen is relatively nice. Although Akureyri is small in itself, the hostel is located in the town's heart.
The hostel is situated in the main street. Negative aspects rooms are very spartan, showers are in the basement and blankets aren't included in the price. The hostel has a nice bar to talk with other travellers.
